She doesn't wear my ring. We never stood before a preacher. The only vows exchanged were between our bodies; between our souls. But she was mine and I was hers until I ruined it. I have to believe that every day, every step, every breath brings me closer to making things right. To making her mine again.

I had two things in life that mattered. My mother and my music. Mama was taken from me too soon, and now music is all I have left. It's the thing that's pushed me right out of backwoods Georgia into Los Angeles, where the line between fantasy and reality shimmers and blurs. I'm finally making my way, making my mark. I can't afford to fall for one of music's brightest stars. Not now. Music is all I have left, and I'm holding on tight with both hands.

I liked most of the story but at times it felt like the author was adding unnecessary information just to meet a certain word count. there is an obvious double standard when it comes to the main character she always hides things and after her secrets come out expects to be heard out but when it's done to her its unforgivable.

One look at Jericho Forge, and I knew the rumors were true. He was a predator, and he had set his sights on me. I knew better than to bet more than I could afford to lose that night. I knew better than to bet myself. But desperation leads to bad decisions, and I thought there was no way I could lose. I was wrong. Now I have no choice but to make a deal with the devil....

I do what I want and who I want. I don't follow anyone's rules-even my own. I knew I shouldn't touch her, but it didn't stop me. Didn't stop me the second time either. Only made me want a third. My lifestyle suits the savage I am, and she doesn't. But Temperance Ransom is my newest addiction, and I'm nowhere near ready to quit her yet. I'll have her my way, even if it means dragging her into the darkness. Hopefully it doesn't kill us both.

I loved the first book but I really had to power through this book only because it's a series and my book lovers OCD wouldn't let me skip it. Sass is just so poorly written. She sees these signs that this guy is no good even tells herself these actions aren't right and yet just shrugs her shoulders and says "oh well it's my choice" hides things from her friends cause she knows they will point out the things she already knows but God forbid someone tell her she's wrong.

Jason Thorn...my brother's childhood friend. Oh, how stupidly in love with that boy I was. He was the first boy who made me blush, my first official crush. Sounds beautiful so far, right? That excitement that bubbles up inside you, those famous butterflies you feel for the very first time - he was the reason for them all. But you get to live in that fairy tale world only until they crush your hopes and dreams and then stomp on your heart for good measure. And boy did he crush my little heart into pieces.
