Strong telepath Elle Drake has gone missing. Even her six magical sisters cannot find her. They all agree that she is alive and something terrible must have happened or she would have contacted them. Jackson Deveau, a deputy sheriff in the small village of Sea Haven, off the northern California coast, has known that Elle is destined for him. When she disappears, he gathers with his friends, Jonas Harrington and Ilya Prakenskii, and Elle's sisters to find her and bring her safely home.

I am an immensely devoted fan of Christine Feehan. I can honestly say that I've read and own ALL of her books to date, as well as have numerous on audiobook. I would like to point out to those that "stopped" partly through this book left out on a good listen. Though I can understand that the story can make listeners uneasy on the subject of rape and abuse, there's more to it than that. There's the tale of Elle overcoming what she went through, and the strength the listener can pull from her. There's a strong sense of devotion from both Elle's family and her destined lover Jackson that the listener connects with.

Also, the main reason I admire this book in particular is it shows a whole new and different side to Feehan's writing. Though she's written well over 50 novels, this one shows that she can pull away from her usual story lines and create something new and daring. I must say, she pulled off the new style and valorous writing very well in this book.
I would recommend listening/reading the other books in the Drake Sisters series to get a better understanding and appreciation to the sisters' powers and story line.
