Characters are cardboard, storyline is obvious, and descriptions are grossly over-written (ex. We get that she's frightened, so don't spend 10 minutes telling the reader what to think about her situation.). This is a book in a series, but it only promises to give us the same slog through of one-dimensional characters emoting endlessly. Who cares?
