When the FBI's preternatural crimes unit tracks her down at a remote mountain lodge for her insight on a local case, her quiet retirement is promptly besieged by a stab-happy starlet, a rampaging ghoul, and a vampire-hunting jackass in tight Wranglers. This was a first time read of Ms. Aalto. I must say she did a fantastic job. What a fun book. There was the right amount of suspense a touch of romance and tons of laughs. All the characters were very well written. I loved Marnie her snark and thinking had me laughing so hard at times. I feel I need to defend this author. I read a few reviews before getting this book and the first few were bad reviews. Which I don't get. There complaints did not match this book??. Marine did have a bit of horndog thinking but that was explained. If you let bad reviews keep you from reading a book then you'll miss out. You be the judge. It doesn't mean you won't like it. As far as the narrator Any McFadden she was perfect for this book. Voices very very well done. Told with emotion and a smooth voice. Highly recommend both author and narrator

Oh boy. Have you ever watch a movie that sparks your interest an then you go this is really stupid. But you can't stop watching because you just got to know. Well this is that book. The characters felt like teens then a child with a bit of adult. I'm not a prude far from it. There was way to much sex and poorly written. As far as the narrator cat she was just as bad. She did teen and children voices well. And the male voices were done with this deep gravely evil insert an evil ha ha ha to it and you have it. I don't understand the 5 star review's. This author and narrator were not for me read/listen at you own risk. Oh hay if you want a good series read/listen to Debra Dunbar ( Imp series) if I were you I would look elsewhere.

I stumbled across this book and keep coming back to it, so i gave the book and the author a try. I've never read/listen to a book that is about space so I have nothing to compare it to, but I read/listen a LOT of books. MS Bouchet has written the beginning of a good series. You will start with suspense and move to some back ground on the characters and mix in some budding romance with hot moments to more suspense some mystery in there and some chuckles. Don't get me wrong I liked it but it was a bit slow in a few spots a bit to much inner thinking with Tess. However I will get the next book. MS Bennett was the narrator she did a fantastic job. Told the story with so much emotion and brought each and every character to full life. I swear I was listening to a movie. That doesn't happen very often. Highly recommend this narrator. Over all i'm hooked to this series can't wait to find out what happened next. Bring it on.

I can't say they didn't warn me. Right now, I realize: I probably should have listened. Because if there's anyone who has no business playing a sport that requires a helmet, pads, and a liability waiver, it's this girl. The same girl who once knocked herself out during a game of backyard baseball. I stepped up to the plate, pulled the bat back a little too far to swing, and clocked myself in the back of the skull. Boom. Lights Out Lucy. That's how I got my roller derby name. So yeah. Maybe I should have known better.

I don't get it. Why why the bad reviews for this book. i just don't understand. I only read reviews at the beginning of a new series and most of the time I don't go off them far to many time a book with bad reviews turn out really good. For some unknown reasons I scanned the first few reviews and they were not good. So I put off reading/ listen. I knew I would get to it at some point. Let me tell you MS Jones as written one hel of a fantastic book. A truly well seasoned writer and story teller she's right along side of Denise Grover Swank. A book with a well thought story, suspense, romance not over done and laughs very well balanced. Now I get to move right on to the next book with out waiting. People leave bad reviews because they had to wait for the next book or that it was left hanging. Come on people grow up. And to those not sure if they want to spend the money because you think it was badly written you'll miss out. Grab up this master story teller book you won't be sorry one bit. (Not a standalone book) the narrator was fantastic loved MS King. She told the the story with emotion did the voices so well. This is the only book I have in this series that's audio In fact I'm going to go back and buy all the book's in audio to have MS King was that good. This is definitely a series you should listen to can't wait. Please get a move on i think we get to read about beep story lol.

As far as the narrator MS Gavin she's the best you will always get a fantastic read. Voices of all the characters are done top notch a story told with feeling and emotion. In fact MS Gavin was the main reason I got the book. I feel MS Gavin can take a so so book and make you want to hear more. Highly recommend but it has to be audible version.

I have some mixed feelings about this book. MS Faith dose a fairly good job. The book was a bit slow in spots and I thought there would be more action. However the characters were likeable and the story not bad but not great. This is the first book in the series and that could be why. I will give this series another book and see were it gos. As far as the narrator. MS Landon she sounds exactly like one of my favorite narrators which is very good. She has a smooth voice and fits the characters. She also tells the story with emotion and feeling. A fantastic narrator will without a doubt I will listen to MS Landon any time. Like I said not a great book. Has romance, suspense, some action and likeable characters and a bit of a mystery. I have a feeling this series will improve greatly in book to.
