For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. Then the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved. When two young men from town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new life - until the unthinkable happens.

Owen's has a stellar talent for making the words and descriptions feel real while making them sound poetic. The characters feel like someone you know. The sexual situations are PG13. She doesn't fill the book with F bombs to make it edgy. I still care about the marsh girl. BTW.. Is great as an audible. The voices fit the characters and are consistent. I find the ending plot just a hair lacking.. The trial. But it gave the ending a bit more punch.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I'm reviewing this for those who don't like lots of F bombs. This is laden with them. And the sex is a significant part of it from the start

Would you be willing to try another book from James Patterson and David Ellis ? Why or why not?

I think I'd be leery

What about Edoardo Ballerini’s performance did you like?

Great at voices! Seemless

Any additional comments?

Please audible get some kind of morality ratings that include bad language. I did see the sex meter on one listing and was grateful for that!

What did you love best about The Testament?

It starts off SO WELL. I just love the snarky old guy and his sass. Then you learn of the loser lawyer and off it goes. I couldn't have guessed it. Fantastic ending wraps it up.

What did you like best about this story?

Excellent writing throughout. No sex scenes.

Which scene was your favorite?

When the woman in South America talked about her faith and the purpose it gave her and those who joined the Christian faith. It was "real" not preachy.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Be Careful What You Wish For

Any additional comments?

I loved the reader. the writing was NEVER boring. Story was funny, humorous, compelling, and even inspirational.

This story is compelling. Someone who is willing to call a spade a space even if it's not politically correct and will enrage a large group of people. You can't ever hear stories like this without being grateful for being in America (or Europe). My only personal disappointment is that she gave up all religion after being disengaged from hers. My faith is in complete alignment with most everything she wants, except for chastity before marriage and it makes the world of difference in my own life..
