You'd think that life would be easy-breezy for a handsome, demonic badass like me, but you'd be wrong. The demon doesn't help me with rent, doesn't help me pick up chicks or anything fun like that. Instead, he's all about violence. So, when this super-powered necromancer shows up in town and starts emptying the city's graveyards, my buddy Gadreel thinks it's go time. Before the Veiled Order knows it, a war is about to break out between the living and the dead.

I loved the characters in this book. The main character's fear of seeming weak made him run into dangerous situations and continually mess up things for his team mates in really funny ways. I thought it was clever and fun I enjoyed it and would have thought it worth the listen. I got this book in exchange for a review from audiobook boom

Scotland, 1026 - Gruoch, descendant of the line of MacAlpin, should have been born into a life of ease. But fate is fickle. Her father's untimely death, rumored to have been plotted by King Malcolm, leaves her future uncertain and stained by the prophecy that she will avenge her family line. Escaping to one of the last strongholds of the old Celtic gods, Gruoch becomes an adept in arcane craft. Her encounters with the otherworld, however, suggest that magic runs stronger in Scotland than she ever imagined.

Would you listen to Highland Raven again? Why?

Absolutely, I loved the characters and the way they interacted with one another. The use of magic in this book was also very good. The way that the characters interacted with each other was enjoyable and it was an immersive experience. I found this book to be different from most fantasy books and I liked listening it.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the way the magic was put into the book, like it was just part of the world. I also enjoyed the way she used the old festivals that druids celebrated.

Have you listened to any of Lesley Parkin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to the narrator before, but I thought she did a wonderful job

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes absolutely, actually I practically did, as we were on a road trip at the time.

A hundred years ago, the last people of Earth landed on planet AR617b. It was their only hope after being forced to flee the dead planet that was once their ancestral home. The native inhabitants of AR617b, known as gerons, are sentient creatures that resemble a cross between dragons and griffins of old Earth lore. When they initially tried to destroy the settlers, a deal was made to ensure both species' survival.

What made the experience of listening to Birthright the most enjoyable?

I really liked the characters and loved listening to this book.

What other book might you compare Birthright to and why?

There are many books that are paranormal romance, some of my favorites are the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole, Thea Harrison's books, as well as J.R Ward and Kerrlyn Sparks. All these authors add myths and magic to modern day settings and make alternate worlds which show how these creatures adapt with the centuries and shows you their hidden worlds.

Which character – as performed by Melanie A. Mason and Anthony Bowling – was your favorite?

I liked the little demon, he was super cute, other than that it was the main female character.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Girl is a princess of her people, she is forced to fight for her life and goes on a journey to fairy to try to visit her father's land.

Would you listen to Alpha Wolf's Pet again? Why?

Most probably not, while I liked the story itself, I found the way that the narrator emphasized certain words and not others to be highly annoying.

What other book might you compare Alpha Wolf's Pet to and why?

I found it to be somewhat similar to Stray by Rachel Vincent, A Wolf Awakens by Cam Cassidy,Unexpected Alpha by Bethany Wicker and very similar to a gay romance book I read, called How to Howl at The Moon by Eli Easton.

What aspect of Christine Padovan’s performance would you have changed?

The way she emphasized her words, it distracted the reader from the story.

This book was very fun and enjoyable. However the characters did not stray much from other romantic books I read. The helpless woman decides that in order to save her family, she must sacrifice herself. Enter handsome wealthy man that needs a wife, they become close to one another over time, until finally they are truly in love. However I thought this book was funny in places and I liked the misdirects in the plot. This book was provided in exchange for a review from audiobook boom.

This book is very hot, if you are looking to listen to a lot of sex, with some classic stories then this is for you. I really enjoyed it and the new take on some classic tales, but there wasn't ever really a moment where I thought, oh that's different, or I've never seen that done before. Then again I listen to a lot of fantasy novels and I find that they all get to be rather similar after a while. Though it is rather similar to other novels I have read, the sex scenes were really good and that's really all you need in erotica anyway.
