Where does My First Planet: The Complete Series 1 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Everything ranks under Cabin Pressure (it just can't be beat) - however, this has some good voice actors and a solid story line so I would list it as number 3 of my top 5 comedy radio series from the BBC. Keep up the good work BBC4!

Patricia Gallimore is a wonderful voice actor. She has a wide range on the vocal scales. I can totally believe her voice for the male characters. The story by Andrea Frazer is lovely. Not gory, but you sure do get the point of the murder. I'd love to say Beecham steals the show, but the three main characters are strong enough to hold their own. These are lovely stories that make you drive around the block one more time just to listen to a little more before going home.

Great characters. Good progression of character development. I love Beecham and want a loyal household engineer just like him in my employ. Dear Audible, please include the remainder of the series in your library so I can listen to them all. It must be Patricia Gallimore to narrate - she is fabulous!

I so enjoy this narrator and am glad they brought her back for this book. I hope Audible will record the first book in the series titled: Pretty is as Pretty Dies.

Completely enjoyed the performance. Lia brings Myrtle alive and makes you believe that her neighbor, Erma, is as annoying as Myrtle describes. I really like these stories and hope that Audible will bring the entire series into their library.

The performance was halted. You could hear her bump the table. Nothing like the narrator in the other stories which by the way is flawless and has a wonderful grumpy old lady voice. I wish they would contract the performers for the book series so the customer could enjoy consistency. Even if it is bad at least it would be consistent.

The narrator had a nice voice, but I am not sure if it was her performance or just the story that was disappointing. I have a feeling it was both. I generally like books that incorporate the yarn hobby, but this one didn't seem to have a character to like nor a character to hate. The killer came out of left field and I don't remember a good setup. I had no desire to try to predict the killer like I do in other mysteries. That means there wasn't anything to go on to spur my interaction with the story. I didn't like the overabundance of descriptions. It didn't make me feel like I was there or visualize the scene, it felt like unnecessary bloat. I was very disappointed because I’ve wanted to read this series for a very long time. I must not click with the author - I am sure there are those who do.
