Daniel Martin has never forgotten his childhood encounters with Frank Watkins, the man who built his family a summer home out of cardboard and plywood. Frank's gaze was oddly confusing, as if he was attempting to discern the proper way to behave because he didn't know how to respond in a human manner. Since Frank obviously wasn't an alien, young Daniel thought maybe the man was crazy. In the end, Daniel would learn the terrifying truth about Frank Watkins. And as an adult, Daniel is about to discover there are more of them out there.

J.D. Barker’s The Fourth Monkey is everything you could hope for in a dark mystery/thriller that teeters on the very edge of horror. From start to finish I hung on every word, there are no dull moments, just loads of excitement and mystery. Parts of this book are so chilling it had me gasping out-loud…in the car…driving to/from work…in the daylight! WTH?! Narration by: Edoardo Ballerini was phenomenal, I’m thrilled to see he’s narrating book 2 of the Detective Sam Porter series “The Fifth to Die”. I 100% Recommend for all who are not faint of heart. Definitely 5 Stars

Detective Porter and the team have been pulled from the hunt for Anson Bishop, the Four Monkey Killer, by the feds. When the body of a young girl is found beneath the frozen waters of Jackson Park Lagoon, she is quickly identified as Ella Reynolds, missing three weeks. But how did she get there? The lagoon froze months earlier. More baffling? She's found wearing the clothes of another girl, missing less than two days.

Dark psychological thriller about a woman who is narcissistic, devious and evil beyond comprehension. Laura seems to be the epitome of a good kind caring person, baking homemade treats, offering to mend clothing and volunteering at the suicide hotline. In truth the suicide hotline is her hunting grounds, she’s on the lookout for candidates to fulfill her life’s ambition, to experience first-hand the dying last breath of as many people as possible. Horrific tale yet oh so hard to put down. Outstanding narration by the entire group. I highly recommend!
