If you're like me, and have tried every diet under the sun to lose or maintain weight, you'll find this book interesting. It offers simple advice we've all heard, and debunks many fad diets that claim to be the best way to stay healthy or lose weight. I've been on one diet or another for most of my life, hoping to find the golden ticket, but listening to this book will simplify my approach in the future.

I knew nothing about this book or the writer when I hit play, and was very pleasantly surprised. The story was interesting, but the writing was great, the kind that really pulls you in. The narrator was a perfect fit, contributing a performance that added that extra element to make the book a compelling listen.

The first book in this series was one of those delightful surprises, a fascinating peak into the twisted mind of the main character, who has become one of my favorite all time villains. I think I enjoyed the second book even more than the first, but neither would have been nearly as delicious if I'd read them instead of listening, definitely one of those stories that is elevated to a new level by a remarkable narrator who captured the main character's voice with perfection, as if it had been written specifically for him to read.

People start dropping dead around Charlie, giant ravens perch on his building, and it seems that everywhere he goes, a dark presence whispers to him from under the streets. Strange names start appearing on his nightstand notepad, and before he knows it, those people end up dead, too. Yup, it seems that Charlie Asher has been recruited for a new job, an unpleasant but utterly necessary one: Death.

My husband and I have been married for 14 years, and we have a good relationship. We were not having any major issues we needed to work through, but I had a lot of little complaints that were frustrating to me and made me feel like my husband just didn't "get me". Something about this title caught my eye and when I saw all the great reviews I decided it might be something worth trying out on an upcoming road trip.

My husband was very reluctant to listen, but we were both captivated almost right away. This really answered ALL of my little complaints I had about my husband's attitude toward me and our relationship, and helped him understand where I was coming from (and vise versa!). It put things in an entirely different perspective for him, and in a way that he understood, rather than just blocking out what he felt were just nagging wife complaints. It truly helped us understand each other and our needs so much more clearly, and I really believe listening to this book was a game changer for our marriage.

Several weeks later, I have noticed a real change in our relationship and our attitude towards each other. I believe those changes will last a lifetime, and think it will be great to re-listen occasionally for a refresher.

The bottom line is this: if you are in a committed relationship, you will get something out of this book. I am an avid reader and audible listener, but can say with all sincerity that this is one of the best books I've ever read or listened to because of it's usefulness in my life. You will not regret spending a credit on this book!

The most influential work of the entire Spanish literary canon and a founding work of modern Western literature, Don Quixote is also one of the greatest works ever written. Hugely entertaining but also moving at times, this episodic novel is built on the fantasy life of one Alonso Quixano, who lives with his niece and housekeeper in La Mancha. Quixano, obsessed by tales of knight errantry, renames himself ‘Don Quixote’ and with his faithful servant Sancho Panza, goes on a series of quests.

Be prepared to use the bookmark feature often, you'll definitely want to go back to the funniest parts!

Fantastic book, terrible abridgement!

I love this book, and am a HUGE fan of Diana Gabaldon and her Outlander series. I had already read this book as well as listened to Outlander on audiobook when I downloaded this version. Although A Breath of Snow and Ashes is one of my favorites of the series, I was definitely disappointed with this version. The abridgement is terrible and leaves out large chunks of the story, which is problematic when those events are referred to in the following book. Also, I did not enjoy the narrator nearly as much as Davina Porter who has also narrated books in the Outlander series. I did not realize when I downloaded this book that it had been abridged, and would not recommend it. This is a 5 star book that only gets 4 because of the narrator and abridgement.

This is a great book, and the narrator is one of the best I've listened to. I generally only listen to audiobooks while I'm cleaning house, working out, ect, but I was so captivated by this series that I found myself staying up late to listen and my house sparkled! At first I thought it might be better to read it to help keep all the intricate details straight, but ended up preferring to listen because I enjoyed the narrator so much (I also would have driven myself crazy trying to figure out all the correct pronunciations). Although I would not recommend this to someone who is easily offended by graphic sex scenes or someone looking for a "light read", it is definitely right up my alley and I very much enjoyed it.
