Chuck Palahniuk, the author of the New York Times best-sellers Fight Club and Lullaby, is known for his edgy novels, and Rant is no exception. Palahniuk presents this fictional biography of Buster "Rant" Casey in a series of vignettes told by the people who knew him best. As intricate as a spider web, Rant succeeds in recounting the story of one man's life only through the eyes of others. But the question remains, "Who was Rant Casey?"

Perfect story perfectly narrated. It doesn't get any better than this.

I've read this book so many times I've lost count. Listening to it (multiple times), I'm happy to be able to enjoy this brilliantly written tale with voices for the characters, so superbly done this twisted story absolutely comes to life. I hope if this is ever made into a movie it comes out as well as this audio version. A++

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. This is the 5th book in the series and they are all really well done.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Very strong story. If you like detective stories that are comparable to today's headlines, this one's for you.

Which scene was your favorite?

I don't think I could pin down a favorite scene, the entire plot is so well written.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Although the story is very dark in nature, there are quite a few moments where I found myself chuckling out loud, the narrator brought the characters to life, so it was easy to find humor in their personalities.

Any additional comments?

100% great series, I'm looking forward to book 6 and couldn't be happier with this collection. A+

Love this series by Scott Meyer, totally interesting, fun, and creative. I'm super happy that Luke Daniels is the narrator, he really gives every character life, and makes every book he's done 100x more enjoyable to listen to. This duo rocks!

I listened to this audio book during the 2017 Texas Hurricane, Harvey, so to say it felt accurate and extra haunting is an understatement.
This story is told in a documentary style, a reporter shares with us the thoughts and commentary of survivors that stayed in a Florida theme park to care for it after the storm hit. It has a 'Lord Of The Flies' feel, but ... not. Tragic survivors that overreact to their situation in every wrong way possible.
It's very well written and the reason I'd chosen it was because my favorite narrator, Luke Daniels, narrates it. He does an amazing job giving each character their own personal voice, as the writer had given them specifically written personalities. This book is very engaging, supremely eerie, absolutely gross, completely realistic, utterly plausible, and held my attention enough that I listened to the entire book in one sitting. Then I listened to it again the following day.

Two thumbs up, 5 Stars, 10 out of 10, Highly recommend.

Sinclair Rutherford is a young Seattle cop with a taste for the finer things. Doing menial tasks and getting hassled by superiors he doesn't respect are definitely not "finer things". Good police work and bad luck lead him to crack a case that changes quickly from a career-making break into a high-profile humiliation when footage of his pursuit of the suspect - wildly inappropriate murder weapon in hand - becomes an Internet sensation.

Great, great, GREAT story. The characters are all completely interesting and would each do well with their own spin off stories. Rutherford. the main character was so well written I have a completely perfect image of him in my mind, I love when a writer can do this and Scott Meyer delivers on descriptions. Details were also described very well, and not 'too' in depth to where you'd get bored. The ending was fantastic, don't want to spoil any part of the book but if you choose to get it, be ready for a FUN and interesting book on corporate owned detectives.

Luke Daniels NAILS the characters 'voices' and gives them life. I seriously didn't feel like I was being read to, more like I was watching this story in my brain, which is how all books should be narrated. I will be looking for more books read by him, he is the best I've heard on Audible ... so far anyway.
