Charley Davidson, Grim Reaper extraordinaire, is pissed. She’s been kicked off the earthly plane for eternity - which is the appropriate amount of time to make a person stark-raving mad. But someone’s looking out for her, and she’s allowed to return after a mere hundred years in exile. Is it too much to hope for that not much has changed? Apparently it is. Bummer.

Since the Others allied themselves with the cassandra sangue, the fragile yet powerful human blood prophets who were being exploited by their own kind, the delicate dynamic between humans and Others changed. Some, like Simon Wolfgard, wolf shifter and leader of the Lakeside Courtyard, and blood prophet Meg Corbyn see the new, closer companionship as beneficial - both personally and practically.

I love this series but I get annoyed with the narrator sometimes because she would be using a female voice when it is a male character talking, and not switch the sounds, it is like she doesn’t know when to switch characters. Other then the annoying narrator the series is amazing I love how Anne Bishop builds such a believable story and I love all the characters in this series I am sad that this is almost the last book but I love that Simon and Meg are finally building a relationship that is more romantic then friendship

I have to say I enjoy listening to ms Moning book in audible format it is more enjoyable then reading the novel, I read this book years ago and was excited to see it was on audible the narrator has a nice voice and I liked his Scottish accent. His female voices are a little off but it didn’t ruin my enjoyment of listening instead of reading it. I recommend this for all Highlander fans who loves the heroines to be innocent and the men as masculine as possible but also protective.

Human laws do not apply in the territory controlled by the Others - vampires, shape-shifters, and paranormal beings even more deadly. And this is a fact that humans should never, ever forget.... After her divorce, Vicki DeVine took over a rustic resort near Lake Silence - in a human town that is not human controlled. Towns like Vicki's have no distance from the Others, the dominant predators that rule most of the land and all of the water throughout the world. And when a place has no boundaries, you never really know what's out there watching you.

I love the others series but was disappointed when the story of Meg and Simon ended I was hoping they would be in this book, but with big disappointment they had only a slight reference in one chapter. Although this book involves the others after the big fall out in book 5 the characters in this book aren’t as enjoyable to read and listen to as the original books 1 to 5 it wasn’t bad but not something I would listen or read again I would rather re listen to the audible of Meg and Simon since they are more interesting the heroine in this book was pretty boring and the storyline seemed lacking she had no backbone it was just bland

It's only when I get there that I realize the Seattle office isn't stumped at all. They're being silenced by the Mages' Guild, a corrupt magical institution that doesn't want word to get out of what is plaguing the city. Worse, news of my magic might've slipped down to the underworld, hitting the ears of some extremely powerful demons.

When I first this series, it started out slow but got better as I continued listening to it, I’m actually glad I kept listening I really like a strong heroine who knows how to kick ass and use her talents she doesn’t hide behind dumb fears or insecurities like most fantasy heroines do. There is also romance which I love the romance was slow but it was building and we were able to see things moving along it wasn’t an instant attraction but so much humor to get there I really enjoyed book 2 more then 1

I thought the threat from Seattle was finished. That we showed up in time and took care of business. I hate being wrong. It really ruins my day. When Roger, the alpha of the North American pack, shows up at my door with the news that a demon has made it to the Underworld with knowledge of me, some hard decisions have to be made. Do I stay above ground, with all my magical friends, and wait for the battle to come to me? Or do I seek the demon out, and pluck the threat out by the root? I don't want my friends to die on my behalf.

Ehd's a caveman living on his own in a harsh wilderness. He's strong and intelligent but completely alone. When he finds a beautiful, young woman in his pit trap, it's obvious to him that she is meant to be his mate. Elizabeth doesn't know where she is or exactly how she got there. She's not at all interested in Ehd's primitive advances, and she just can't seem to get him to listen. No matter what she tries, getting her point across to this primitive but beautiful man is a constant - and often hilarious - struggle.

This was such an amazing love story even with out communication the love you felt transcended space and time the only thing I would change about the book is that they should have included Beth’s point of view also, I didn’t like that it was all based on ehds view only. I felt like in between chapters the book would not have been ruined with her point of view I am glad they added the epilogue to explain how she ended where she was but it still would have been a better novel to add all that within the storyline.
