Grace would love to mirror the life of Charlotte bronte's Jane Eyre. but she never expects to have anything out of the ordinary happened to her until she is forced to marry someone she doesn't doesn't love and leaves her small town in Virginia for the big city. Beautifully written in the style of the 19th century classic writers of the great romances, Miss Hawkins takes us on a wonderful and exciting new adventure as Grace finds out who she really is.

I love this book. Having never known anything about Joy Division and very little about New Order, I was intrigued with the early punk sound and how it all came about. I got to truly understand the Manchester scene. Hooky's description of their lives as they strove to become stars on the punk scene was touching and hilarious at the same time. I enjoyed it so much that I went to a Peter Hook concert and was so delighted that I can't get them out of my head! Excellent read/listen. I wish he would narrate his other books! Go on. Buy the book and listen for yourself. You'll love it!

The TV show does not do it justice. I believe the history of it is as accurate as it can get cosidering it happened over 1200 years ago. Jonathan Keeble's narrative was strong and put the listener right in the thick of the story. I definitely recommend this series to everyone who loves historical novels. Going on to the next audio book, this time read by Richard Armitage.

I enjoyed the story. I believe the historical content to be fairly accurate. However, the ending was anti-climatic as it left the male protagonist just giving up his lover and child too easily. It should have fold us more about what he went to do. It was tied up too quickly at the end
