Possibly my new favorite author, I started with “how we became wicked”, which was awesome and this had a milder approach with a very introspective end, loved it!

I have been on a search for clarity in regards to the love and grace of God and the LGBTQ community which brought me to this title and although that particular topic wasn’t he focus this book is greatly opened my mind on the content of scripture.

As someone who grew up in a boho beach culture in S. FL, and later in my teens moved to the Bible Belt and came into a relationship with God through Jesus, the general consensus that gays are some kind of special group of sinners besides the rest of us was not easily reconciled with “for God so loved the world”....loved this book.

I can find differences with Nadia but overall the church has left its first love and we desperately need to have our hearts broken for all people or dare I say we don’t know God at all, loved this book.

This story held me to the very end. The writer does a good job of running a parallel narrative of both a modern day forensic investigation and side note historical accounts of both Alaska and the war.

I was really interested in the missing pieces of the Lord Of The Rings and at first really liked the narrator’s voice, the story line many times felt like reading the “begots” in the Bible and the narrator didn’t fluctuate his voice as much as would like for character change, it’s a must read for any fan of the Hobbit but come with your attention span fully gauged.

As a father I really enjoyed this family story and as someone who grew up on the beach and now live in the mountains it stirred my sea fever.
