David Spade is best known for his harsh "Hollywood Minute" sketches on SNL, his starring roles in movies like Tommy Boy and Joe Dirt, and his seven-year stint as Dennis Finch on the series Just Shoot Me. Now, with a wit as dry as the weather in his home state of Arizona, the "comic brat extraordinaire" delivers a memoir.

One of those brilliant board rats types. Purposely under achieving cause we can. Obnoxiously short yet sexy. Bai buybye.

Al Franken, Giant of the Senate is a book about an unlikely campaign that had an even more improbable ending: the closest outcome in history and an unprecedented eight-month recount saga, which is pretty funny in retrospect. It's a book about what happens when the nation's foremost progressive satirist gets a chance to serve in the United States Senate and, defying the low expectations of the pundit class, actually turns out to be good at it.

Wow, well written and hard to put down. The senator did not disappoint he was funny. And so creative and honest wove together the life of a comedian turned politician. It was intriguing and interesting to hear how relationships on the hill develop. He mostly with respect revealed personal traits in others in politics that was engaging. Most of all spoke with heartfelt admiration and gratefulness about his constituents. We could all hope our senators think that much of all of us.

It's rare that an actor embodies even one memorable character over the arc of a career. Jeffrey Tambor has managed to create three, beginning with Hank "Hey Now!" Kingsley on The Larry Sanders Show, the series created by Garry Shandling, Jeffrey's first mentor in television. He went on to find two more show creators, Mitch Hurwitz of Arrested Development and Jill Soloway of Transparent, who shared a love of actors and taught him a lot about acting along the way.

Really interesting to have Jeffrey explain his experiences. It was funny and involving I loved hearing about all the people he's worked with.
