Does this author know what vegan means??? She keeps talking about eating dairy. I don't feel like I can trust anything else she says with such a simple, glaring error. I'm sending this back.

I was looking for a good suspense story, and I certainly found one. I also found amazingly beautiful language and well articulated insights. I can't wait to read more in this series.

Couldn't stop listening but didn't want it to end. A fascinating cast of flawed character, great historical detail and a beautifully constructed plot.

One of the best narrators I've heard. He didn't go overboard creating specific voices for each character, which I appreciated, but I never had any trouble understanding who was speaking. This is a fantastic story, made even more hard-hitting by the fact that it's based on a true story.

A great story with well drawn characters. The ending was great, but it felt a little contrived to me. Some foreshadowing would have helped. The narrator is one of the best I've heard.

The story from the past that unfolds is fascinating. The characters come alive, and I love the fact that the setting is based on real fact. The present-day story took the novel more into the realm of romance novel than great literature, but it was a very entertaining and the narrator did an excellent job.

I loved the strong female characters, the Intriguing plot and the background excitement of the revolution. One thing I enjoyed most was the wonderful period details. The narrator could stand a bit of improvement to her male voices, but otherwise she was perfect.

I loved learning about the government's studies of paranormal phenomena. If I have any criticism, it's that sometimes less is more. The author was clearly in love with the subject matter and I appreciated her passion, but the amount of detail and the number of examples made it drag in places. Still, I'm very glad I listened.

The last book that had me this engrossed and on the edge of my seat was The Martian, but this one is a true story, based on diaries kept during the expedition and interviews with surviving members. The prose brings the story to life with detail and emotion and the narrator captures the excitement without becoming melodramatic.
