Can't wait for the rest of the series. The only issue is the editing. There are out-takes of the narrator left in the audio. It's not a big deal, but I figure you should be forewarned.

I have no known relation to the author.

I think the author is really hitting his mark. Somewhat derivative of O'Brian and Forester but with his own twists and characters. I'm so glad to see something new and fresh in the genra.

I think I've listened to every possible historical fiction series based on the French revolution and this one is off to a great start with a fresh storyline.

I can't wait to hear more from the author.

If you like Hornblower, Aubrey, Lewry, Sharpe, etc then you will like this book. These stories are told in a much different manner which was a welcome surprise. Many thanks to the author for allowing me to continue listening and enjoying this genre.

If you can get past the reason for anarchy, it's a great story.

This is like a prepper's wet dream. All the paranoia they possess is justified in this book.

Personally, I'd rather the plot line to be another type of descent into anarchy, but if you can get past the somewhat ridiculous reason for all the trouble, then the story is excellent.

Lots of detail, then a summary of an ending

A pretty good story with lots of detail. Then it's like the author has an "oh crap this book is getting long" moment and it ends with a summary of how things play out.

I'm sure for some that's fine, but I prefer a more linear passage of time.

Not the ending I expected after the first two parts.

The first two parts are really interesting, but the book ends as a Greek tragedy which is not how it starts.

The book starts off interestingly with mr. Rat, but then jumps forward in time. It seems like there are many interesting events that are covered as a summary instead of in the moment.
