Fanny Price, a poor relation of the rich Bertrams, is reluctantly adopted into the family, to be brought up at Mansfield Park, where she is condescendingly treated. Only her cousin, Edmund, a young clergyman, appreciates her fine qualities. Fanny soon falls in love with him, but Edmund is, unfortunately, drawn to the shallow and worldly Mary Crawford.

Nolan Lennox had things figured out. Named after a baseball legend, she enjoyed being the tomboy. Her closet was filled with her brother's hand-me-downs, cut-off jeans, and soccer shorts. But when her first trip to high school results in a broken heart from the first boy to ever make her heart flutter, and cruel words from an older girl she once thought a family friend, Nolan starts to question the very person she thought she was.

Sam & Grace are almost too sweet together but there's also this undercurrent of sadness that makes it balance out. I just love how it's not so much a romance but a story about fighting for those you love. Protecting, defending, comforting & supporting family is beautiful. There is so much more than just what I wrote. I'm listening for the 2x, that is how memorable it is.

Growing up in the high desert of California, Jim Doty was poor, living with an alcoholic father and a mother chronically depressed and paralyzed by a stroke. Zara White suspects there's a freaky guy semi-stalking her. She's also obsessed with phobias. And it's true, she hasn't exactly been herself since her stepfather died. But exiling her to shivery Maine to live with her grandmother? That seems a bit extreme. The move is supposed to help her stay sane . . . but Zara's pretty sure her mom just can't deal with her right now.

I was furious at the way "the fate of 10" ended. It took a long time for me to get around to reading the short stories that accompanied that book. It took a long time to finally read the next round of short stories & this final book. I hoped that Henry's words(book 1)weren't foreshadowing Sarah's death . Alas, they were & it hurts even if it makes sense plot wise. This is a good ending just bittersweet. A great storyteller gets you invested in his characters & I was totally rooting for the Guard & their allies. Great job Pittacus. Read it even if you are mad.
