How could the author resist the Le Veq family and leave out my favorite character from a prior book. Did I miss something? This story was boring and really could have been a shorty story.

I have never read a book that had me invested in ALL of the characters. I felt for the minor characters as well as the main love triangle. It is a mature romance in that it shows that life is unpredictable and people grow in unpredictable ways. Relationships between adults and parents and siblings and community change. The only thing that is certain is change. It is our duty to know ourselves and not give that responsibility to others. I loved how that truth was reflected in this book.

This series is the same storyline repeated ad nauseum for five or six books. I’m glad I did not pay for more than one because the rest were free and in the Romance package. I really found myself saying Wow, this is stupid and the characters are supposed to be so smart but they continually make incredibly dumb decisions over and over again. For example, one character is an insomniac who only drinks energy drinks. This was just sad. I found myself listening because I thought “There gotta be a story in here since some publisher let them write so many books in the series”. Well NOPE. I want the last 10 hours of my life back.

Here is the summary of all the addicted books: Lily and Loren and their friends are all addicts and since they are rich, they have nothing else to think about but their addiction so they go to therapy and talk about it for 6 or more really long winded books.

Every character is terribly idiotic. Their reactions to the ridiculous plots are so uncharacteristic of any sane person that the listener begins to resent the time spent listening to this garbage. I found myself fast forwarding a lot to see if any of it would make sense in the end. No such luck. Watch a soap opera on daytime TV instead. Even Tyler Perry would call this a stupid story.
