Story
Everyone has heard of Wallis Simpson, the woman for whom Edward VIII so infamously abdicated his throne and birthright. But although her life has constantly been the subject of much fascination, gossip, and speculation, her whole story has yet to be told. Now historical biographer Andrew Morton uses diary entries, letters, and other never-before-seen records to offer a fresh portrait of Wallis Simpson in all her vibrancy and brazenness.

Not what I expected
Reviewed: 01-04-19
After hearing the story of Wallis Simpson on The History Chicks podcast, I really wanted to learn more about her. However this story is horrendous and badly written. It is full of bias and places many historical figures in an unflattering light, despite what they did or did not do. The writing was badly done.
I just hope I can still return it!

Story
It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

Crazy

This story is bonkers. I never thought I could feel physically sick from reading it. And oh my gosh the end! Ugh.
It really is too bad that Kirby Heyborne had to read it too... I would have preferred someone else to have done that job.
