This book tells a very important story about a point in time where women were sexually liberated, then discovered that they needed to be liberated in so many other ways. It was a consciousness raising, thoughtful journey after which I concluded that there is still a long way to go before we reach true equality. The performance was painfully robotic and the info was very dryly presented (like a history book). I prefer the “Good Girls Revolt” Amazon Prime series which brought this story to life. Sadly, the show was cancelled after just 10 episodes. I wonder if that was a sexist discriminatory decision? Hmmmm

I really enjoyed the story. Having worked for 9 years resettling refugees, I had been looking for stories written by Vietnamese refugees and this was the first one I had found. I enjoyed the story very much, but the easing of it was horrible! Very robotic.

Perfect title for a book about this strong lady. Loved hearing her story. However, editing is a bit lacking, with some stories being repeated and some jumping around. It must have been rushed to publication so as to grab the public interest soon after Bar’s death.

I was very disappointed to find out that this entire story is not even historical fiction, it is more like science fiction. There's actually a subway train in this one! ugh

Entertaining, but unremarkable. Being a clinical therapist, i was rather interested in the psychiatrist and his research, but that character had a very strange “ending.”
