I Was in Love with a Short Man Once is a collection of stories written from the perspective of a crazy Southern Irish gal. Follow her as she reflects on growing up as a child of limited means in South Florida; managing a self-financed college education; balancing work as a federal official with the demands of single motherhood; and navigating the amusing challenges of being a second-time-around wife.

I have literally listened to hundreds of audio books. When I’m not speaking to another human, they are seriously the background of my life. A good narrator is essential for me to enjoy the amount of books my ears consume. As a narrator, Amanda Newcomb is able to convey the feeling and emotions of the book the way I think the author intended. In the case of “I Was in Love with a Short Man Once”, her voice told smart, witty, and even humorous tales from a “crazy, southern, Irish gal” Kimberly Dalferes, and I enjoyed every minute! Highly recommended narrator and author!!
