Julie Atwood is struggling with the day-to-day challenges of being a single mom. She is recently divorced, financially stressed, and still reeling from a violent attack in her past. She is determined to make it on her own, however. She learns self-defense skills and enrolls in a women’s-only firearms class. The urgency of her efforts takes on new importance as society begins unraveling around her. Conservatives and liberals are at war. Then the president cuts funding to so-called Sanctuary States, including her home state of Oregon. Julie loses her job. Everyone who lives off the government gets desperate. Riots. Crime. Fire.

I’ve been waiting for Shelby’s book for sometime now and she DOES NOT disappoint! Well worth the read for anyone, man or woman.
Men will get a good deal of insight into how a woman might see and react to the decent of Western Civilization here in the US.
Women who’ve perhaps never considered prepping/training will find a particularly excellent role model. I’m sending it to my daughter.

What is masculinity? Ask ten men and you'll get ten vague, conflicting answers. Unlike any book of its kind, The Way of Men offers a simple, straightforward answer - without getting bogged down in religion, morality, or politics. It's a guide for understanding who men have been and the challenges men face today. The Way of Men captures the silent, stifling rage of men everywhere who find themselves at odds with the overregulated, overcivilized, politically correct modern world.

The "tactical virtues" STRENGTH, COURAGE, MASTERY and HONOR are clearly described. And their value - though obvious to to those in the path- are laid out in a way that allows even the most uninformed weakling to make a different choice and embrace STRENGTH!!!!
Read. This. Book.

If you could sum up 299 Days IX: The Restoration in three words, what would they be?

Plausible, educational, entertaining

What did you like best about this story?

What I enjoy most about these books is the overall plausibility of the story-line.

Have you listened to any of Kevin Pierce’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have and he is now my favorite audio performer. Kevin Is able to play multiple characters so consistently and well that I know instantly "who" is talking at any given point in the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

As things fall apart, most will tremble in fear, a few...will rise...against the growing darkness!

Any additional comments?

These books are an enjoyable and believable ride. You end up learning a good deal that might actually save the lives of you and your loved ones but in a way that is essentially effortless because the delivery is so smooth.

In The Collapse, the government stops working, guns and ammo are in high demand, and a trip to the gas station has become a mission rather than an errand. Grant and the Team see these warning signs and know it is only the beginning, so they begin taking action to protect themselves and their loved ones. As they prepare to get out of dodge after a deadly incident in Grant's neighborhood, they will soon learn whether the preparations they made in Book One will be enough to survive the breakdown of society.

What made the experience of listening to The Collapse the most enjoyable?

it is a new take on the potential collapse story in that it is not total. It seems more plausible than most other "fiction" of like kind out there today.

Which character – as performed by Kevin Pierce – was your favorite?

Grant and "the outside thought".

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I'm pretty hardened, I don't have extreme reactions but throughout this series I've found my self nodding my head in agreement or shouting out loud "exactly!".

299 Days: The Preparation, the first audiobook in the 299 Days series, depicts the inner struggles Grant must face as he exists in a social system he recognizes as unsustainable and on the verge of collapse, but one in which he has built his life around. What begins as a return to his roots, self-sufficiency and independence, becomes a full blown move to prepare for what may come.
