Easy Rawlins is out of the investigation business and as far away from crime as a black man can be in 1960s Los Angeles. But living around desperate men means life gets complicated sometimes. When an old friend gets in enough trouble to ask for Easy's help, he finds he can't refuse. Bad Boy Brawly Brown is the masterful crime novel that Walter Mosley's legions of fans have been waiting for. This book marks the return of a master at the top of his form.

I thought the storyline was pretty good but not sure why Easy keeps getting himself arrested over and over and OVER again but still continues to take these detective jobs. The narrator is a nice rich baritone but his interpretation of all the "ethnic" voices (i.e. Black, Latin, Asian) were extremely exaggerated, esp Jesus and Feather.

Alexis Fletcher hasn't had a merry Christmas in five years - not since her mother passed away. Every December she remembers the joy her mother brought to everyone during the holiday season and feels the pain of her absence, even more so now that she and her sister are barely speaking. More than anything, Alexis wishes her family could be whole again.

Roby has visited this storyline before. Feels a lot like this book was a publishing obligation. I really love Roby but I was underwhelmed by this one.

Eric Jerome Dickey's boldly sensual new novel centers on what his fans love best - steamy romance and shocking betrayal. This is an edge-of-your-seat novel about a good man who loves his wife, Genevieve, but finds himself drawn against his best intentions into an affair - with his wife's sister. Both women have a mysterious and tragic past that raises the stakes in this fast-paced novel.

Would you consider the audio edition of Genevieve to be better than the print version?

I thoroughly enjoyed the audio edition of Genvieve. Richard Allen smooth baritone really brought the characters to life -- he can make reading the phone book steamy!

What did you like best about this story?

The male lead. His story is very recognizable. The reader is lead to believe Genvieve is a broken woman that her husband is forced to repair, however that thought is turned on it ear since he too is broken.

What does Richard Allen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Absolute sensuality
