Brant Talbot runs a glitzy network of high-end bars in New York City, enjoying all the benefits of the lavish lifestyle he's worked so hard to achieve. When he learns that his estranged father is dying, he must return to his family’s Kentucky horse farm - and to a past he thought he left behind. While facing long-buried truths, he collides with his father’s secretary, Isabelle Farris. Despite his undeniable attraction to the beautiful, independent young woman, he sees secrets in her eyes and believes she has designs on Graystone Hill.

Think you know what it's like being a baller's girl? You don't. My fairy tale is upside down. A happily never after. I kissed the prince, and he turned into a fraud. I was a fool, and his love - fool's gold. Now there's a new player in the game, August West. One of the NBA's brightest stars. Fine. Forbidden. He wants me. I want him. But my past, my fraudulent prince, just won't let me go.

Wow! This book was so good! The narration was super well done! Suspense, angst, drama... this book had me ugly crying in the car line picking up my kids while I was listening. My heart hurt for these characters and some of the scenes were honestly really hard to read but I loved the strength of these characters and the way they found their way to happiness. This is my first Kennedy Ryan book and the writing was off-the-charts amazing, I just bought every book she has so I can read all her words - simply amazing! Long Shot is a top pick of 2018 and going on my favorite heroines shelf. This is an a fantastic story and I highly recommend it! I can't wait for more by this author and these narrators!!!

Amnesia, heartbreak and lies. Waking up from a coma...the only person I remember isn't here. Not even my best friend knows who he is. I know in my heart Locklin is real. My memories of us began with love, songs, and passion. But soon after changed to sorrow and fear. Maybe I'm crazy.

In July 1965, teenagers Sylvia and Jenny Likens were left in the temporary care of Gertrude Baniszewski, a middle-aged single mother, and her seven children. The Baniszewski household was overrun with children. There were few rules and ample freedom. Sadly, the environment created a dangerous hierarchy of social Darwinism where the strong preyed on the weak. What transpired in the following three months was both riveting and chilling.

Nico Medina's world is 11 miles away from mine. During the day, it's a place where doors are open - where homes are lived in, and neighbors love. But when the sun sets, it becomes a place where young boys are afraid, where eyes watch from idling cars that hide in the shadows and wicked smoke flows from pipes. West End is the kind of place that people survive. It buries them - one at a time, one way or another. And when Nico was a little boy, his mom always told him to run.
