What did you like best about FREE: Locke & Key? What did you like least?

The story is good, and entertaining, but there is so much over acting and background story related sounds that it is nearly unbearable. It is distracting and ridiculously loud.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kenzie was quite spunky and I liked her. Her mother on the other hand was a weak minded b%$#@!

What three words best describe the narrators’s voice?

Over the top

Do you think FREE: Locke & Key needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Heavens no!

Any additional comments?

Really was a good story. Lots of action and entertainment, but it was too overproduced. It was like listening to a play, but you can't see the actors.

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr Caldwell calls her "our little genius". Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh. Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up. Melanie doesn't know why this makes Miss Justineau look sad.

Would you try another book from M. R. Carey and/or Finty Williams?

Probably not.

Has The Girl with All the Gifts turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. Anyone disappointed in this title should check out Mark Tufo.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Finty Williams?

It's not that she was a bad narrator, I was just distracted by the accent.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The ending was wrapped up well.

Who am I? My name is Christy Snow. I'm 17 and I'm about to die. I'm buried in a coffin under tons of concrete. No one knows where I am. My heart sounds like a monster with clobber feet, running straight toward me. I'm lying on my back, soaked with sweat from the hair on my head to the soles of my feet. My hands and feet won't stop shaking. Some will say that I'm not really here. Some will say I'm delusional. Some will say that I don t even exist. But who are they? I'm the one buried in a grave.

Where does So Cold the River rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really think this is one of my favorite books of all time. I have had it for quite a while, and I often go back to it to listen again. This story drew me in like no other has (except maybe Stephen King's The Cell or Mark Tufo's Spirit Clearing). I am very familiar with the setting of this story, and have stayed in both the West Baden and the French Licks hotels long before finding this novel. I always thought Pluto was a haunting creature, and you can feel the spirits among you.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Eric - He is totally convinced he knows what he is doing, and he forges through in spite of all the elements against him.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene where the little old lady is taken captive. She's quit spunky.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but it was way too long to listen in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

Get it. If you like entertaining, spiritual and supernatural elements, you will love it.
