I've listened to each book in this series and thought this story sounded like nothing new. But the villain proved me wrong. Very interesting story; another professional performance.

After six books, one would think that Faythe would learn to toughen up about or walk away.

Hard to believe she expects to become the Alpha.

It was immediate for Roman. In 3,000 years, he'd never lost control of his emotions, or his heart. But the moment he laid eyes on Evelynne Farrow, he knew she was the woman who haunted his dreams. And everything changed. Everything. Evie Farrow has always loved a good vampire romance. In fact, she makes a living writing them. While sitting in a coffee shop and working on her next mega-hot book, Evie is approached by a tall, dark, and handsome man who could have been pulled directly from one of her novels.

This narrator takes a good story that jumps between different settings with different groups of characters and makes no effort to help the listener transition between them.

The 'almost monotone' narration creates a situation where you can be a paragraph into a new setting with the new characters and you're confused, as if you were following a path then suddenly lost your way. It just makes what should be a pleasant listening experience into too much work to keep the story straight in your mind.

I'll read the story myself and pray the author did a better job with the transitions.

In a realm where one’s magical power determines one’s worth, Lady Everleigh’s lack of obvious ability relegates her to the shadows of the royal court of Bellona, a kingdom steeped in gladiator tradition. Seventeenth in line for the throne, Evie is nothing more than a ceremonial fixture, overlooked and mostly forgotten. But dark forces are at work inside the palace. When her cousin Vasilia, the crown princess, assassinates her mother the queen and takes the throne by force, Evie is also attacked, along with the rest of the royal family.

Story takes awhile to create the proper setting and main character's state of mind, so the first fee chapters drag. But it's necessary if we're to understand the character growth. Only wish it could have been accomplished with fewer beginning chapters.

If someone were to ask Jasmine Santos to describe the last few years of her life with a single word, it would definitely be a four-letter one. After 17 years - and countless broken bones and broken promises - she knows her window to compete in figure skating is coming to a close. But when the offer of a lifetime comes in from an arrogant idiot she's spent the last decade dreaming about pushing in the way of a moving bus, Jasmine might have to reconsider everything.

I've now read half a dozen of this author's works. Many times the premise seems less than appealing. And yet, time after time, the flaws, goals, mistakes, perseverance and triumphs experienced by the main characters make the stories compelling, moving and uplifting.

Given the story itself and an excellent narrator performance, I highly recommend this audiobook.

Thirty days ago, my boss, Mr. Wolf of Wall Street, came to me with an offer I couldn't refuse: Sign my name on the dotted line and pretend to be his fiancée for one month. If I agreed, he would let me out of my employment contract with a "very generous" severance package. The rules were pretty simple: No intimate kissing, no actual sex. Just pretend to love each other for the press, even though I've secretly wanted to knock that sexy smirk off his face since the first day we met.

Whitney G's characters are always intelligent, sassy and real. She can take even an ordinary scenario and make it fascinating.

These are flawed, capable and caring characters that you also end up caring about. With Whitney G., even though you KNOW how the story must end, the path you travel to get there is twisted, clever and enjoyable.

I'm a true fan of the all souls trilogy but not this work. Brought me up-to-date on most of the family but little plot and no excitement.

Where is the Goddess - on holiday? The forces of evil were mentioned in one passage? Ho-hum.

Narrator OK but with this larger cast of characters, the story needed someone able to.provide a wide variety of male and female voices, much.like the original trilogy.narrator.

As much of this tale is back story for existing trilogy characters, I hope this book's purpose is only to keep the story alive, with more soon on the way.

Like Cotton Candy, sweet.but little substance.
