No pun intended. I got this as a daily deal. I was hoping it was a quick listen murder mystery. So it started okay. Character development was about what you'd expect from a shortish story. In drops the physic.... It could happen. Pyschic and cop turn out to be gay. Again, it could happen. A bit of a twist but still a good story and I wanted to know where the dog and the girl shook out in the story.

And then the sex scenes. Heterosexual, Homosexual, pan-sexual... I really don't care and I like to know how the characters shake out if it's relevant to the story and character development. Having said that, good story telling includes the author leaving the reader to fill in some of the blanks; letting the reader know that two characters spent the night together. But if I want erotica, there's plenty of it on the web for free.

What I want to know is 1) did they find the girl... 2) the monster - I need that closed, and the dog... Is the dog okay? What I don't need to know are the details of the erect members, how fast it takes to orgasm simultaneously, etc.

I’m not sure if it was the story or the narrator or both but this one was painful. I really enjoyed the first two Dic Ford books. 4-5 stars all the way around. This one felt like a collection of disjointed stories that may have a common thread if you squint real hard. I’ll definitely do more Doc Ford/Randy White but I won’t soon recommend this one.
