It’s rumoured that Dickens wanted to return to his classic novel Oliver Twist, to bring him back into a later book as an older character, but he never managed this before he died. However, if Oliver had returned, what would he have been like? Would the scars of his childhood affect the man he would become? And what of ‘Dodger’, sent to a land halfway around the world, his friend, mentor and master dead because of Oliver? Dodge & Twist is that story. The tale of two boys, 12 years later, returning into each other’s lives - for both good and bad.

I don’t write reviews. But I just HAD to after listening to this superbly crafted story with its richly developed characters and its unexpected twists and turns. And the performance—BRAVO!!! What a gem for those who, like me, love a good mystery but adore great writing!!

Only God knew why Jillian Slater agreed to return to New Orleans on the news that her father had finally drunk himself to death. It's not like they were close. She hadn't seen him - or her grandmother, the ice queen - in almost 20 years. But when Adella Atwater, the manager of her grandmother's apartment house, called and said her expenses would be paid if she'd fly in for the burial, a free trip to New Orleans was too intriguing to resist.

Such a great story with well-developed characters, an intriguing plot, and suspense that kept me engaged until the very last page!! Loved it and hope Beth Moore will write more fiction in this genre. Excellent reader narration as well! I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a gritty, well-written mystery minus gratuitous sex and graphic violence.
