I just can get interested in the side story on Paradise, none of the characters draw me in. I fast forwarded to the last quarter of the book. I kept waiting something interesting to happen but......... Nothing. Even R.C. Bray couldn't save this one!!

I played all those cool video games. I watched all those movies. I even read the books. In most of 'em, the hero shoots the bad guys, drives a sweet car, never gets hungry, and always seems to get laid by the end. Yeah. Whatever. I gotta be straight with you about why I wrote this journal, and it comes down to one thing, the apocalypse kinda sucks. It doesn’t meet my expectations at all.

Self loathing, political tirades/diatribes disguised as a Sci-Fi, post ap novel. Can't take anymore of the political stuff, I turn to fantasy/fiction to escape!!!!!! The only bright spot was the narrator.

Sheriff Hayden Duke was born on the Pilgrim, and he expects to die on the Pilgrim, like his father, and his father before him. That's the way things are on a generation starship centuries from home. He's never questioned it. Never thought about it. And why bother? Access points to the ship's controls are sealed, the systems that guide her automated and out of reach. It isn't perfect, but he has all he needs to be content. Until a malfunction forces his engineer wife to the edge of the habitable zone to inspect the damage.

The survivors have come to settle in the mountains of Wyoming, fighting day in and day out to establish a home for themselves in a near-empty world. Things are good at first; scavenging is a workable, short-term solution that seems to be providing all they need. But they know that it’s only a matter of time before the food runs out. They need to scramble to find a sustainable solution before the clock stops, and for a little handful of people up in the mountains, the odds don’t seem very favorable.

Not a very good Reacher book at all. between the lack of action and Dick Hills performance this book does not live up to previous Novels. R.C Bray would be a better fit for this series, Dick Hill (who I've listened to for years) just can pull off multiple character voices. Same cadence, inflections, almost gives them all a speech impediment.

Bish is the land of constant strife and turmoil. The rise and fall of the blazing suns make the days long and the people disagreeable. Its barren Outlands are as comforting as a bed of thorns as there is little sanctuary to be found in the sweltering forests or the dank caves below the ground. Its caviling cities are overrun with death, greed, and corruption, but few complain. It is a place where tempers flare and alliances last as long as a tankard of ale. A place where good doesn't thrive, it endures.
