Ms. Thacker has woven a captivating tapestry of love, mistrust, honor, and acceptance in this audio book. It is one of the most interesting romance books I have ever read. I am looking forward to listening to the other books in this series. The narrator was extraordinary. Her accents were spot on.

This audio book seemed like a ripoff of the Joaquin Phoenix movie The Village with a BDSM slant. Had it not been for the narrator, I would have stopped listening after the second chapter. It took almost eight hours to tell a story that could have been completed in less than two. I usually like Ms. Tilton's books, but this one was a dud.

Over the course of a 30-year career, Eddie Izzard has proven himself to be a creative chameleon, inhabiting the stage and film and television screens with an unbelievable fervor. Born in Yemen and raised in Ireland, Wales, and postwar England, he lost his mother at the age of six. In his teens he dropped out of university and took to the streets of London as part of a two-man escape act; when his partner went on vacation, Izzard kept busy by inventing a one-man act, and thus a career was ignited.

Ambrose Young was beautiful. He was tall and muscular, with hair that touched his shoulders and eyes that burned right through you. The kind of beautiful that graced the covers of romance novels, and Fern Taylor would know. She'd been reading them since she was 13. But maybe because he was so beautiful he was never someone Fern thought she could have...until he wasn't beautiful anymore.

First and foremost, before writing a book the author should do some research. Women from Iraq do not wear burkas, they usually wear the hijab. Afghani woman wear burkas. If the narrator had not been so good, I would have stopped listening by the third chapter. In addition, I did not care for the way the author kept jumping back and forth in time. Find a timeline and keep to it. Yes, it was a sweet story, but extremely predictable and a bit dreary. I believe the author had the young adult audience in mind when she wrote this book.

I ordered this book by mistake and I am glad I did. This is a beautiful story about two lost souls who find each other. I didn't realize this was about a same sex couple, but once I began to listen to it I realized that love is splendid when two people find their life mate. It was a pleasure to listen to such a heart warming story by a first rate narrator.
