When you have to kill the same terrorist twice in one week there’s either something wrong with your world or something wrong with your skills - and there’s nothing wrong with Joe Ledger’s skills. And that’s both a good and a bad thing. It’s good because he’s a Baltimore detective who has just been secretly recruited by the government to lead a new task force created to deal with the problems that Homeland Security can’t handle....

Former Marine Captain Alexander Hale only wanted a weekend out with some old buddies. He could have done without the gang war, the shootout, and...oh yeah, the alien abduction. Now he's in the middle of something he doesn't understand, never asked for, and is having quite possibly the greatest time of his life. I liked the book enough to want to hear more. There were moments that I really liked. I just thought the story had too many holes that should have been easy to remedy in editing. Nevertheless, it was interesting enough for me to want to hear more.

I usually don't give negative reviews. If I don't care for a book, I won't rate it or I'll give average ratings because maybe the book will appeal to someone else. This story was poorly done. From the extremely rushed love interests, to the "brilliant" people making incredibly stupid decisions, to the multitude of contradictory things taking place often at the same time. I was really disappointed and can't wait to get my credits back!

I can't believe how good Brandon Sanderson is!!!! That's coming from someone who's read several of his books. This second book might be better than the first and the first was amazing. Seriously one of the best and more unique books you'll ever listen to. He took an over done hero theme and brought a completely different spin to it.
