This book in the Whiskey brothers series is about Bullet Whiskey...ex military and bad@$$ biker who runs his family’s biker bar. Bullet is attracted to baker Finlay, whom his sister has hired to help design the renovations of the bar’s kitchen. There is some chemistry between the pair but not as palpable as with the other couples. The book was enjoyable.

Across the bottom of the screen the ticker tape announced in large black letters 'Governor Reynolds Murdered'. Apparently his body had been discovered earlier that morning, lying in his garage. He had been shot twice. One shot to the upper chest, the other hitting his shoulder. 'Police believe that the weapon used was a 38 revolver,' the reporter said. Kendall froze. Anthony Shaw had also been killed by a 38 calibre bullet. Kendall was not quite sure of what it all meant. What connection was there between Anthony Shaw, and the State Governor, and the business mogul, Ian Duncan. And what about Senator Mackenzie? Where did he fit in? And who or what was Latimer?

Wow.Just.Wow! Sometimes, as a series progresses, the storylines become dull but not this one! The dual plot line between present day and early 21st century England is simply fascinating. In this book, we discover the tragic story of a young woman, who was a pawn in the world of titles, land and wealth in the 1400s. We also learn that Quinn, in the last stage of her pregnancy, discovers and is searching for her twin sister. Meanwhile, Gabe is torn about possibly selling his ancestral home. Lots going on in this story...you’re never bored. The narrator has the perfect voice for the characters and really immerses you in the story. I look forward to book 5...I’m dying to know if Quinn finds her twin!

Chilling, creepy, scary...and thoroughly enthralling! Horror novelist, Lucas, is in a writing rut and decides to attend an author's retreat in a quaint B&B that has just opened specifically for this purpose. There he meets three other novelists who are all hoping that the peace and quiet of the countryside will revive their careers. Lucas quickly discovers that the owner of the house, Julia, is in her own mental torment after the drowning death of her husband, and her daughter going missing two years ago. Julia hopes that this 'retreat' will be the first of many that will solve her financial woes, as well as give her time to keep searching for her daughter, who she believes is still alive. When Lucas hears a child singing in an 'off limit' room one night, he begins his own investigation/research. His curiosity piqued, Lucas then hires a private investigator to reopen the case of the missing girl...particularly since another girl had gone missing 35 years ago. There appears to be some correlation to the missing girls and a centuries old local folklore of a grieving widow who cursed the town and demanded the life of a child. This book is fantastic! If you enjoy mystery, horror and romance, then this is for you! The plot will throw you...just when you believe that you have it figured out, someone dies or is attacked and you have to rethink the identity of the bad guy. The new-to-me narrator did a wonderful job with all of the characters and it was easy to distinguish between them, even with the accents! If only I could have rated it above 5 stars!
