The days of being afraid of the walking dead are long since past. While they still prove to be a menace when they are found in massive herds numbering in the hundreds of thousands if not the millions, it is now the living that can be the most terrifying. Humanity is clawing to regain its place, and some will do anything to ensure their own survival...even at the cost of others.

The best zombie series I've ever read. These books are my family deep in my heart.

Everything hangs by the thinnest of threads. In a Dead world, nothing is certain and nobody is safe. Friends have fallen; some enemies have been defeated only to be replaced by yet another. As the first year of the zombie apocalypse ends and a new year begins, can a person hope that the coming of spring can be a starting point for re-birth? If not... then what is the point of trying to survive?

The five stars for overall, performance and story are telling (audible). Readers (in my case listeners) who have made it so far don't need to be told anything more. TWB is great!!!

I'm not disappointed (unlike other zombie-authors with high ranking I've tried lately on Amazon). There is hardly anyone like you, T. W. Brown.

At first I didn't like the book, managed just about 8%, got bored and put the book down: A book starting in the middle of nowhere without any explanation, with geeks ruminating over zombies? Then, maybe after a year I gave it a second chance and was enthralled. So good a book!! I love the characters, the plot(s). I've already bought the second book - amazing. So, if you are into typical zombie reading, don't hesitate, survive the "uggly" beginning and have fun.
