The words skip and some sections actually repeat far too often. The recording is therefore, unacceptable regardless of how good the content may be. The recording needs to be re-mastered.

Well, good news: your success is not up to your boss, your manager, your employees, or the economy. It's up to YOU. Business is never bad, people are just bad at being in business. If that makes you mad, this book is for you. Larry Winget hacks through the bad advice given in most business books.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Larry focuses the book on you the line level employee. It is all your fault and you should be happy to have a job so stop complaining about anything. He does not discuss "why" his company hired all these idiots in the first place. He focuses mostly on the fact that idiots don't make good employees which is kind of a "duh" opinion.

He also fails to focus on all the company BS that gets spun down to the line level employees leaving many of them disillusioned. Don't get me wrong there are some great nuggets in here but, it is a very "lightweight" rant from the perspective of a cranky old boss man. Be loyal to your employer and they will be loyal to you is a very dated concept. He does not make a good argument as to why employees should be loyal when the boss man keeps hiring all these idiots. I mean, I don't want to work with idiots so Larry why are you hiring so many of them?

It is well done for the most part just more of a rant from a boss about sucky employees being the problem more than anything else.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Larry was the only character.

What about Larry Winget’s performance did you like?

The book reads like he speaks. Easy listen and funny at times.

Was It's Called Work for a Reason! worth the listening time?

No. This book has some really great information but, it is basically a rant from a boss about how his employees should be glad to have a job. He is the boss, his employees are idiots, kiss his ring. He does not discuss why he hired so many of the idiots he loathes.

Worry about cholesterol. Avoid red meat. Eat whole grains. Could it all be a lie? We live in an era of health hype and nutrition propaganda, and we are suffering for it. Decades of avoiding egg yolks, choosing margarine over butter, and replacing the real foods of our ancestors with low-fat, processed, packaged substitutes have left us with an obesity epidemic, ever-rising rates of chronic disease, and, above all, total confusion about what to eat and why.

Would you try another book from Liz Wolfe and/or Liz Wolfe?

Perhaps. I did not feel the author brought much new to the conversation. There are a lot of books that do a better job of covering fast food/agra business and also better books that cover Paleo. This is worthwhile but, not a great book.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It was a bit snarky and I felt that she borrowed a lot of material that is already out there in spades within the ancestral diet community

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

It was a bit snarky

Did Eat the Yolks inspire you to do anything?

There wasn't a lot of new information in this book. It was a re-hash of information that is commonly known in the ancestral diet community

Any additional comments?

This is more of a call to action than it is a scientific journey and that is ok. But, if you are already into low carb/high fat or ancestral you will find this redundant. Again, it is more of call to action than anything else.

What made the experience of listening to Less Doing, More Living the most enjoyable?

This book is basically just a list of links to cool websites and services. That said, it is a worthwhile listen just to get to know those sites. Otherwise, there is not much to this book. I will certainly take advantage of some of the sites and services listed.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Less Doing, More Living?

Website you can use to get your name off of catalogs you don't want is awesome.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narration was completely wrong for this particular book. His inflection was off almost like he was trying to build "suspense" when none is needed for this subject matter

What did you love best about Cholesterol Clarity?

The subject matter in this book is excellent. It is on point and provides plenty of analogy to make an otherwise difficult topic easy to digest. Nearly everything you would want to know about the state of cholesterol and current screening processes for heart disease which, are likely shortsighted at best.

What other book might you compare Cholesterol Clarity to and why?

This is better than Keto Clarity overall. Jimmy Moore seemed to be more on point with this book and less redundant. However, there are major recording issues in here where you can hear clearly that he overdubbed parts of the book later. It is distracting but, does not totally ruin the book. However, I am surprise he did not re-record the whole thing to make it more professional.

Any additional comments?

Recording quality is not great at times.

Leading health blogger Jimmy Moore and researcher and internist Dr. Eric C. Westman join forces again to explain the powerful therapeutic effects of a ketogenic diet—one that combines a customized carbohydrate restriction, moderation of protein intake, and real food-based fats—which is emerging in the scientific literature as a means for improving a wide range of diseases, from Type 2 diabetes to Alzheimer's and more. Simply eating a low-carb diet alone isn't enough, and Moore and Westman tell you why. Have you looked at a low-carb diet simply as a means to lose weight? What if you learned that combining a low-carb nutritional approach with a high fat intake produces a powerful therapeutic effect on a wide variety of health conditions that most people think requires medication to control? That’s what Keto Clarity is all about. Jimmy Moore, a leading low-carb diet blogger and podcaster, has reunited with his Cholesterol Clarity co-author Dr. Eric C. Westman, a practicing internist and low-carb diet researcher, to bring you the crystal-clear information you need to understand what a ketogenic diet is and why it may be the missing element in your pursuit of optimal health. This book includes exclusive interviews from twenty of the world's foremost authorities from various fields bringing their depth of expertise and experience using this nutritional approach. Moore and Westman explain why ketosis is normal and how this nutritional approach is being used therapeutically by many medical professionals. You will find a step-by-step guide to help you produce more ketones and track your progress, real life success stories, and more. The solid evidence for nutritional ketosis in dealing with many of the chronic health problems of our day is presented, including but not limited to: epilepsy, Type 2 diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, polycystic ovarian syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome.

The narration makes the experience of listening to this book virtually unbearable. Why did the author not read it himself? The content is good but, the narration is painful.

What didn’t you like about Vikas Adam’s performance?

His attempt at "laughing" when adding emphasis was truly terrible. He also seemed to be forcing himself to talk in a somewhat gravely tone the entire time. Very awful.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointing considering the author is so well spoken live. He should have read his own book.

This book contains about 5 minutes of useful information and the rest is nothing more than an advertisement for his website/podcast. Yes, he may have a podcast himself and that is advertised ad nauseum but, there is very little more content here than a constant redirect to his website URLs.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Unfortunately, there are very few audiobooks about podcasting. But, this one is nothing more than an advertisment for his podcast.

Would you be willing to try another one of John Lee Dumas’s performances?

I will not purchase another audiobook from this author.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. I learned very, very little about how to podcast but, plenty about how to get to his website URLs. And dozens of plugs about his Podcast.

Don't buy this book if you want to learn how to podcast. This is just a promotion for his podcast.

Jeff Justus read this like he was talking to a twenty something man, not a woman. It felt like what "Maxim" magazine would sound like on audio. Don't you want, strong, sexy, hot, and awesome hotness, lean, sexy, hotness? Well, I am going to tell you how to sexy up your work out... Something like that.

No. This book provides a fundamental concept of resistance training and proper diet and supplements. This is definitely very sound advice. The production just doesn't work for me.

There is nothing particularly new in this book but, it is sound advice. The book definitely sounds like it was written for a man though. Perhaps the narrator is simply trying to "sexy" it too much but, this definitely sounds like it was written for a man, not a woman
