The story line is interesting enough, but it's raunchy just for the sake of being raunchy without adding anything to the story and it gets old. Plus, the volume level is horribly uneven. I like to listen to audiobooks while driving. If it's loud enough to hear the soft parts, the loud parts are painfully loud, and if the volume is set so you can hear the loud parts without pain at normal volume, you totally can't hear the quieter parts. This is one of the few audiobooks I've purchased that I have no interest in finishing.

The story itself was fabulous - a fascinating potential backstory. But the sound quality was abominable in that it was highly variable so you had to turn the volume way up to listen to the quiet parts and then all of a sudden it would be much louder and blast your ears out until you can get the sound turned down quickly. So it was really frustrating to listen to even though I enjoyed the story greatly overall. If you listen to the story in a completely quiet environment this will be a problem. But listening to it in the car or in the hot tub or at the gym where there is other noise going on around you means that the sound is really hard to regulate. And this is regardless of whether you were listening to it over speakers or through earbuds.

Just as good as all her books! I love the combination of plot twists and the social issues.

Boomerang audio magazines

We've been getting Boomerang's monthly audio magazine for years and my daughter has LOVED it. It's terrific - fun, funny, informative, and thought provoking. There are both kids and adults recording the various segments, which is wonderful. I've even enjoyed listening to it with my daughter. We use segments of the tapes as reference material for school projects and reports depending on what subject is being studied. I can't recommend it highly enough. I was so pleased when I saw that it was going to be available through Audible.com. It's about time the availability of something like this was made more well known.

There are jokes, biographies, vocabulary (can YOU make vocabulary lessons funny???), mysteries, folksy stories that show character development in children, current events, kid-friendly explanations of important concepts, a hysterical segment about the funny things that parents do, and more.
