This is another one of my favorite books.
Jasmine and Romain are wonderfully developed as H/h. Their story is the dark-side of child abductions, murders and abused. Their relation helps each other to heal from regret and to forgive their families. Ms. Novak focus point is on Romain's losses and regrets over his child and family connections. Jasmine's visit to New Orleans enables Romain to look at the outcome of his child's murder from a different prospective. Jasmine wants to solve her sister's 16-years disappearance and established a link between the two cases. This story is filled with so many suspects that you doubt everyone's invovlement with the cases.

But now...Her would-be rapist is getting out of prison. Skye knows that Dr. Oliver Burke hasn't forgotten that her testimony cost him his reputation - and his freedom.

Sacramento detective David Willis, who investigated her case, believes Burke is a clear and present danger - and guilty of at least two unsolved murders. And now Burke is free to terrorize Skye again. Unless David can stop him. Unless Skye can fight back.

Favorite Author = Favorite Book

I read this book many years ago and I'm happy that Audible has it available. It's a great mystery romance story in which the heroine saves herself. Skye is one of the founders of a victim agency called Last Stand. She is resilient in seeking her own justice and putting her attacker back in prison. David, the detector, insistently helps by offering leads that Skye uses to catch her attacker. There are many sub-plots that makes listing more entertaining.

But when Tammy refuses to back down - and shows the courage to stand up to him - he can't resist the allure of the curvy city girl. And when a rival clan thinks to use her to force his paw, he'll show them why you never piss off a Kodiak or threaten what's his.

This is my first review.

Small town shifter romance with a predictable ending. Reid and Tammy start their adventure with a truck heist. The story is well written but missing a little bit of the extra something. Maybe it is the way the narrator had difficulties executing a growl, roar, or moan. Umh ... whatever the problem might be the overall feel of the story is lost with the narration.

I am glad I received this book as part of the Romance Package and did not have to use a credit to purchase it. It is worth the credit for fans of Ms. Langlais. I will listen to the rest of the series through Romance Package.
