It’s been said that you can’t love two men at the same time. You can’t split your heart, soul, and body in half. But I’m here to tell you, you can. Dylan Cole is like ice, sharp and unpredictable, the thunder inside a tumultuous storm. Smith Reid is warmth, soft and gentle, perfect like a sunny day. Both are mine. But I can have only one. There are two sides to this tale. I'm here to tell you mine. If you think this story is about a cheater, you couldn’t be more wrong.

Oh Marni Marni Marni, you’ve absolutely wrecked me. This hauntingly moving book was my first from you, and now that I’ve found you, it certainly won’t be my last because I loved the precision of your words, your pace, your balance and your flow. As the story slowly unfurled I was intrigued.. then captivated.. then obsessed.. then cautiously hopeful.. then confused.. then moved.. then heartbroken.. and finally you made the sun come out again for the heroine and for me. I initially bought your book because of Aiden, Ava and Teddy.. three trusted and well-loved voices who narrated your touching past and present chapters so wonderfully well and together they made your very emotional and moving story unforgettable.

Worth a credit? There are two love stories here.. but no cheating. There is pain.. but there is pleasure too. There are dark days.. but there will be light at the end of the tunnel. There is unconditional love shining throughout this book.. but there is confusion and deep sadness too. I wanted to hope.. but feared too. It’s not your typical Contemporary Romance.. but it is a beautiful love story. And, IMO, yes it’s absolutely creditworthy.

What an enjoyable listen.. Jessica Hawkins has written a delicious tale of enemies-to-lovers office romance and she's filled it with light angst, a sprinkling of humor, heat, hurdles and happily ever afters. The Publisher's Summary pretty much explains the plot.. and it's a lighthearted look at two people who can't help but fall in love with each other despite their circumstances, characters and convictions. Good character growth through discussions and shared revelations, sizzling volatile chemistry, sassy dialogue, interesting secondary characters (including a couple of heartwarming scene with their dogs) and on pointe dual POV narration by Andi and Sebastian who brought the characters, and their heartfelt sweet actions, to life and always guarantee an enjoyable listen.

Worth a credit? Yes I loved it.

They say your first kiss should be earned. Mine was stolen by a devil in a masquerade mask under the black Chicago sky. They say the vows you take on your wedding day are sacred. Mine were broken before we left church. They say your heart only beats for one man. Mine split and bled for two rivals who fought for it until the bitter end. I was promised to Angelo Bandini, the heir to one of the most powerful families in the Chicago Outfit. Then taken by Senator Wolfe Keaton, who held my father’s sins over his head to force me into marriage.

For me, L.J. Shen has written a five star enemies-to-lovers love story and the talented voices of Stephen Dexter and Savannah Peachwood brought the well-written action, the angst, the twists, the passion, the heartache, the sex and the swoon-worthy to life and made it a delicious five star audiobook.

Senator Wolfe Keaton is a cold-hearted, cunning alpha anti-hero.. he's dark, brooding and totally unapologetic for all he puts the naive, virginal, nineteen year old Mafia Princess through when he ruthlessly makes her his bartered bride. And the timid, loving, sweet Francesca Rossi, who had been groomed to become a dutiful Mafia wife, had her eyes and dreams clearly set on her childhood crush.. but all that changes the day her Boss father reluctantly signs her over to Wolfe. However, they have ALL underestimated what Francesca is capable of.. because, when cornered, the lamb will fiercely turns into a lion. There's danger, betrayal, blackmail and bloodshed.. and tempers will flair, promises will be broken, lives will change.. and the unthinkable will happen.

Worth a credit? Yes.. I absolutely loved it. Thank you.. thank you.. thank you Ms. Shen.. I appreciated and ate up all your skilfully planned and executed moves as the dark Villain and his Nemesis verbally sparred with one another and somehow slowly got under each other's skin. I was riveted by your tense scenes as they first harmed and eventually hungered for the other's touch. I marvelled at your endless talents to make me fall hard for such an ass.. by slowly peeling back his damaged tragic layers which revealed his incredibly precious and forgiving heart. I felt the verbal blows, I cringed at the dark angry times, I hoped and prayed while they glimpsed possibilities.. but swore out loud when they were wickedly snuffed out. I sighed.. and swooned.. and even drooled at the delicious things they did together, and got right, along the way. And lastly, I was blown away by the sweet HEA Epilogue.

I absolutely loved loved loved the Buttons series and this, the Lingerie series too... however, I’m getting a wee bit annoyed that the books (which started off being 7+ hrs) are getting shorter and shorter as the series continues.. and, with 12 books in the whole series, I fear it will stretch the Vanessa and Bones story out too long. Already there’s been two other books about their relationship.. and their story doesn’t end here with this book either.. there’s another cliffhanger.

However, I’m a huge fan of all things Barsetti and simply can’t get enough of them.. and their problems, passions, pastimes, pain and promises. And yet, even though this slice was way too short for me personally, I still wouldn’t have missed another chance to catch-up with the lives and love trials of these well-loved characters. Bones (aka Griffin) is slowly changing for Vanessa.. but he still won’t promise forever.. or want the same future as Vanessa wants.. because she wants to be married, have kids and for there to be harmony in her personal life. She has even tried to move on without Griffin - by going on a date with another man.. which was fruitless. So, there is only one choice left for Vanessa.. come clean to her loving and supportive parents about her love for her very dangerous boyfriend. And then hope they can see passed who his father was, hope they can see beyond his build, bad reputation and tattoos, hope they can all become friends rather than arch-enemies, hope they will understand.. and hope they can finally bury the hatchet.. and not in Griffin’s head!! Yea.. well good luck with those hopes Princess Delusional.

Worth a credit? Yes, even if it was a quick listen.. it’s a little slice of Heaven, it’s a dual POV never-ending love story, it’s an entertaining, well-thought out, planned and executed tale of star-crossed lovers doomed and headed for heartache.. it’s got a couple of old narrators.. and I can’t wait to hear more.

“Sometimes love happens when you least expect it.” That was what my husband’s mistress told me the day I found out about their affair. I didn’t believe it until five minutes later when mouthwatering celebrity chef Tanner Reese walked up, tossed his arm around my shoulders, and told my cheating husband to take a hike. Tanner and I couldn’t have been more different. Our relationship shouldn’t have worked, but it did. That is until Tanner proved to me that even though love happens when you least expect it so does heartbreak.

Aly Martinez is quickly becoming one of my top auto-download authors because over and over again she’s written heartfelt books I can’t put down.. and can’t wait to get back to. This storyline is much lighter than my previous listens by her, it’s a shining example of a 5 star Contemporary romance and it’s a bitter-sweet tale of love, bad timing, second chances and HEA’s.

Tanner and Rita weren’t looking for love.. in fact they were both in the middle of a messy relationship.. but instant attraction, easy banter, soul-to-soul harmony and off-the-charts palpable chemistry made it impossible for either one to walk away. A wronged wife going through a divorce and a heap of self-doubt and a smooth sexy celebrity tv Chef with ex-girlfriend trouble meet. They try to take things slowly, try to find the right pace for their relationship, try to move on from their troubled pasts, try not to hurt one another and try not to fall in love with each other.. but they would spectacularly fail. So what you get is an instant connection between two loveable characters, a delicious budding and building of a sweet relationship, bad timings, a beautiful first then second chance to love, character growth and a dual POV storyline that has a good balance of angst, drama, humor, heat and heart.

Worth a credit? A well-written well-balanced Contemporary Romance brought to life by good narration.. and I loved every single minute. So yes, IMO, definitely creditworthy. This IS a standalone story.. however, it’s also a companion to Porter and Charlotte’s Duet The Darkest Sunrise.

His name is Luke. But nobody knows that. He was an iconic musician before he gave up music. But nobody knows that either. They also don't know he's 27, that he used to have an infectious laugh, and that he's way too young to be widowed. They certainly don't know the rest of his tragic story. All they know is that he comes into their cafe at the same time every morning and stares at the same chair at the same table. They know he's strange. They know he interrupts their breakfast with a cold blast of air as he hovers in the doorway, mustering the courage to confront a piece of furniture.

Well what a wonderful surprise.. what a unique, compelling, beautiful, emotional journey that’s guaranteed to be a totally different rockstar romance than you’ve ever listened to before. There’s so much heart.. and absolutely no heat within its chapters.. and it isn’t full of many secondary characters either. It’s told from Callie’s POV, she’s an unpublished Writer/Poet and, while quietly sipping tea in her local Cafe, Callie’s approached by a handsome tattooed guy who asks her to please move to another seat.. stares hopelessly at the now empty seat and then suddenly leaves. This starts a very fragile tentative relationship.. a relationship that slowly unfolds with its truths.. with its traumas.. with its breakthroughs.. and with its beauty. I cannot say more without spoilers.

Worth a credit? This story won’t be for everyone.. it’s about grief, guilt, loss, depression, the reawakening of a lost soul, moving on and a brand new love. It’s got absolutely no sex and no possessive alpha types.. but there’s beautiful words, heartfelt sentiments and a moving story about a complex rockstar, a writer, making music and the famous band Night Shifts Black. The narration grew on me, the storyline was a unique slow-build to perfection, I can’t wait for book 2 and yes, for me, this was very creditworthy.

People call me callous. Arrogant. Ruthless. I call myself tenacious. As one of the most powerful attorneys in Charleston, I don’t let anyone or anything stand in my way. Until a chance encounter changes everything. One glance. One touch. One night. It only leaves me wanting more. But Grace is off limits. Most people would even say forbidden. As soon as I get the slightest whiff of a new book on the horizon from A.L. Jackson’s Newsletter I stalk her pages on Audible impatiently waiting for this skilled author’s next release knowing it’s gonna be good.. but this wasn’t just good.. it was fan.. freakin.. tastic. ALJ is always able to richly describe the intense chemistry between the hero and heroine and you can truly feel the sizzle right down to your toes. She also conjures up heartbreaking backstories, damaged characters who deserve love, suspense, a good cast of supporting characters and a twist or two. However, with this bitter-sweet love story, you’re gonna get so.. so.. sooooo much more.

You get a successful handsome hero who can’t forgive himself, whose shady past and present has made him build walls around his heart preventing him from seeking anything but a life full of random (and frequent) hookups... until her. You get a divorced fiercely protective mother of three whose powerful, manipulative and dangerous ex husband wants her and the children back purely for his own self-serving reasons.. however mama bear is prepared to fight. You get three wee ones desperate to stay with their loving mother instead of their cold-hearted absentee wolf of a father.. they also think a hero has come into their lives to rescue them before it’s too late.. but will he too turn out to be just another wolf. And you get a tentative relationship between two lovers.. who don’t yet know that they’ll become Attorney and Client forbidding anything more between them. That they’ll have to sacrifice first if they ever hope to win.. that they’ll have to resist the pull by pushing away instead.. that they’ll tear their hearts out to do the right thing.. that blood will be spilled.. and that their lives will never ever be the same.

Worth a credit? Absolutely yes.. this is a beautiful and sometimes heartbreaking dual POV love story that has a well-written delicious slow-burn, that has passion, tension, romance and wicked sex scenes, that has chapters overflowing with feels, that has a one-night-stand that turns into a forever love and HEA endings. And it’s all been blissfully brought to life by two skilful and well-loved 5 star narrators who guarantee an enjoyable listen.

This was my first from author May Sage.. it wasn’t what I expected and it turned out to be very different from my normal listen. It’s a very very slow build.. for seven years, Charles and Vanessa resisted the pull of their chemistry because Charles was married and had obligations. But, even though his marriage to a cheating lying manipulative wife is toxic, Charles doesn’t ended it for various reasons throughout the storyline. So, for seven years (and most of the book) these two ‘friend zoned’ each other even though they’d both fallen in undeclared love with each other.. until the night everything changes. Then the power games begin. There’s statements within silences, lies within bluffs, secrets and manipulations all making it a chessboard of moves with one goal.. The Whitehouse. But there’s also a murder to solve, a murderer to uncover and a snake in the grass to flush out.

So yes, this is very different from my usual listen where the alpha hero becomes possessive, single-minded and focusses on how he can get his girl.. instead Charles knows he can never have Vanessa, doesn’t try and focuses on his wife, his career and other things. There’s not much romance until near the end.. it’s just harmless banter, a close friendship by texts, email or phone calls and occasionally innocent rendezvous when they’re both in the same State. In the end they do heat up a few scenes but Vanessa keeps her vow to remain a virgin until her wedding night. Even though I didn’t love this book, the dual POV Duet narration where each keeps to their own gender’s voices by Sebastian and Virginia is what kept my interest, made conversations flow naturally and, for me, is what made this an enjoyable listen.

Worth a credit? Probably.. but I’m on the fence with this one for my own tastes regarding romance/storyline. It’s a well-written political journey, it’s a story of never crossing boundaries, it’s a whodunit in wicked world of enemies posing as friends and family, it’s a tale of manipulation and masterful moves and then it’s a epilogue of HEA’s.

Reviewed: 12-19-18

Although this book was enjoyable - it wasn’t (IMO) as entertaining as the two previous books in this series.. and I think that’s because of the lengthy and constant refusal by Bar owner Machlan to let his ex love Hadley in. They’d once been young lovers but something sad and heartbreaking happened and it tore these two soulmates apart and, as much as they both separately tried, they couldn’t forget, forgive themselves or move on. But now Hadley has come back to town and is staying with her brother.. she needs closure, she’s going to try to put the past behind her and she’s either going to win back Machlan’s heart.. or she’ll have to finally tuck her feelings for him away in a cast iron mental box, seal it up tight.. and throw away the key.

Hadley has always loved her brother’s best friend Machlan and she’s back to at least mend bridges.. but she wasn’t prepared for the cold, moody, sexy, jealous, droolworthy alpha who watches her every move but rudely refuses to serve her a drink. Nor is she expecting the emotional rollercoaster that follows. Because the confusing mixed messages.. the barbed exchanges.. the heated tug-of-war.. the hot seismic chemistry.. the emotional push ‘n pull.. and the passion-filled encounters won’t make her choice easy.. or pain free. Machlan has built an impenetrable wall around his heart, has deemed himself unworthy of love and hasn’t forgiven himself for his actions long ago. And, reconnecting with each other, reminiscing, opening up their psychological scars and finally talking about their pain-drenched darkest days, may just be the best.. or the worst, thing to do.

Worth a credit? Yes, even if the dual POV storyline wasn’t a very happy one because the possessive stubborn hero couldn’t forget and wouldn’t commit despite his raging feelings for the only woman he has.. or will ever, love. Good secondary characters and great Duet narration by Kai and Wen who, by sticking to narrating only their own genders, made it flow naturally, made it more realistic and made it easy to listen to.

I usually love books by Carian Cole and I had pre-ordered this lengthy listen in the hopes it would be everything I love.. but sadly that wasn’t the case. I didn’t think Jillian Macie’s narration was convincing portraying the deep voice of a troubled male. The relationship angst went on.. and on.. and on.. and on.. and on.. and well you get the drift and I’m mentally exhausted thinking and reflecting on it. It’s a rollercoaster of listen.. because I liked it.. then hated it, I was interested.. then thought would it never end, I initially liked the characters together.. then thought they were actually bad for each other.. and I wanted to stop listening.. but ended up doubling the speed instead to get to the HEA ending. However, I didn’t think I would have to wait until chapter forty-nine before I got a tentative glimpse of the light at the end of my.. sorry their, long dark tunnel of love.. but it was soon obliterated again by a tsunami of melancholy, heartache, mental health instabilities, insecurities and attempted suicide. So the HEA does eventually come.. but you’ll have to wait until chapter sixty-something before you can, at last, give a high five that you, and they, finally got there.

Worth a credit? Sadly no - this wasn’t for me and it’s left me feeling quite low. However, there was beauty within the fourteen years of insecurities, there were tender words of love and sex scenes too.. and I did feel their undying love for each other. Unfortunately, Aiden Snow’s narration giving the troubled hero’s POV was a mere drop in the endless ocean told from the heroine’s POV. I know I could’ve, and should’ve, stopped this listen early on.. but I like to get to the conclusion.. to the happy sigh.. to the contented feeling of a loved listen.. but unfortunately all I felt was overwhelming relief. But we are all different and maybe you’ll love it, feel deeply moved and give it 5 stars.
