The people we love are thieves. They steal our hearts. They steal our breath. They steal our sanity. And we let them. Over and over and over again. They say you never forget your first love. Mine was a homeless musician who wandered straight into my soul. He was my first everything. And fourteen years later, I still can't get him out of my head. He broke all my rules. He also broke my heart. I watched him climb to stardom, cheering him on from afar. But I was never a fan; just a girl in love.

I usually love books by Carian Cole and I had pre-ordered this lengthy listen in the hopes it would be everything I love.. but sadly that wasn’t the case. I didn’t think Jillian Macie’s narration was convincing portraying the deep voice of a troubled male. The relationship angst went on.. and on.. and on.. and on.. and on.. and well you get the drift and I’m mentally exhausted thinking and reflecting on it. It’s a rollercoaster of listen.. because I liked it.. then hated it, I was interested.. then thought would it never end, I initially liked the characters together.. then thought they were actually bad for each other.. and I wanted to stop listening.. but ended up doubling the speed instead to get to the HEA ending. However, I didn’t think I would have to wait until chapter forty-nine before I got a tentative glimpse of the light at the end of my.. sorry their, long dark tunnel of love.. but it was soon obliterated again by a tsunami of melancholy, heartache, mental health instabilities, insecurities and attempted suicide. So the HEA does eventually come.. but you’ll have to wait until chapter sixty-something before you can, at last, give a high five that you, and they, finally got there.

Worth a credit? Sadly no - this wasn’t for me and it’s left me feeling quite low. However, there was beauty within the fourteen years of insecurities, there were tender words of love and sex scenes too.. and I did feel their undying love for each other. Unfortunately, Aiden Snow’s narration giving the troubled hero’s POV was a mere drop in the endless ocean told from the heroine’s POV. I know I could’ve, and should’ve, stopped this listen early on.. but I like to get to the conclusion.. to the happy sigh.. to the contented feeling of a loved listen.. but unfortunately all I felt was overwhelming relief. But we are all different and maybe you’ll love it, feel deeply moved and give it 5 stars.

Bones is the son of the man who killed my aunt. He's the descendant of a psychopath, a murderer. His handsome face, blue eyes, and strong physique can fool anyone into believing he's a good man. Including me. My loyalty to my family makes me despise him. But I also can't stop thinking about him. Thinking about his kiss.

I love.. love.. love the Lingerie series but I swear every time they end on a cliffhanger I feel my face morph into one similar to The Scream by E. Munch as I mentally plead no.. no.. no.. not yet! It was over way too soon.. it was nowhere near enough.. it did nothing to sate my voracious appetite for all things Barsetti.. and now it has left me wanting, needing and craving the next delicious instalment of bad boy Bones and good girl Vanessa.

A modern-day Romeo and Juliet.. doomed star crossed lovers.. but what is their fate going to be? Bones kidnapped her, promised a bloody revenge on her and her whole family for the loss of a potentially perfect life.. and, for the last three months, Vanessa has also kept him very sexually satisfied. However, over time things have changed, lines have become blurrred and love has slowly crept into their bartered relationship.. but feelings only complicate their complex co-dependant relationship that was headed towards bloodshed. So how long will they ignore their feelings.. how long will each stubbornly hold their ground.. how long will they fight against the other.. how long will a son have to pay for the actions of his father.. and how long until one of them professes their love and commitment to a brick wall and is eventually forced to walk away? Well read this dual POV instalment to hear how the captor becomes the villain and the villain become a hero.

Worth a credit? It is all-consuming, has well-written drama, angst, sex, passion, thrills and more.. and, for one of them, great character development too - so YES definitely worth a credit.. and great narration makes this a 5 star audiobook.

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me. Whoever coined that phrase is a bald-faced liar. Words are often the sharpest weapon of all, triggering some of the most powerful emotions a human can experience. "You're pregnant." "It's a boy." "Your son needs a heart transplant." Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me. Lies. Syllables and letters may not be tangible, but they can still destroy your entire life faster than a bullet from a gun.

I am slowly working my way through most of the books written by Aly Martinez because she really knows how to write a unique storyline packed full of feels.. and wow, this Duet delivered so many highs and lows and you really FEEL every single one alongside her well crafted characters. I saw every touching scene as the layered plot slowly unfurled its secrets in books 1 and 2. I hoped, with every tender tentative step forward, that these two damaged people could emotionally move into the light together from their dark heartbreaking pasts. I was thrilled then devastated and heartbroken as their rollercoaster ride twisted and turned. I felt every pitfall as the past and the present painfully collided and I was captivated as every emotional scene revealed its devastating touching truths. And finally, after all the tragedies and triumphs, I eagerly soaked up the perfect HEA ending.

Worth a credit? Yes definitely. Aly Martinez is a skilled author who takes you on a dual POV journey that has so much passion, tangible pain, heartache and love love love. Great narration brought it all to life and made it an enjoyable 5 star audiobook.

From over a thousand miles away, I watched on the screen of my phone as two men murdered my wife. And I was helpless to save her. Consumed by hate and rage, I spent four years running from my memories - until a shattered woman gave me a reason to stop. Cora lived in a nightmare, but through sheer force of will, she’d turned it into something beautiful. She had a smile that could pierce the darkest soul. And with one glance, she shredded mine.

This has got to be one of THE best Duets I have ever ever listened to.. and trust me there have been way too many. The epic rollercoaster story starts in such a dark place.. then, as the unique and compelling storyline slowly lifts, unfurls, builds and reveals its gems, there is intrigue, suspense, mystery, secrets, angst, drama, passion, danger, romance, heartache and twists. The full cast of loveable bruised secondary characters all steer the storyline towards the light. But, it is the intense chemistry and slow-building romance between two very damaged people, that really pulls you in.. will keep you there within its virtual pages riveted by every well-placed word.. and the ending will have you frantically downloading book 2 as soon as this one ends.. or even sooner.

Aly Martinez has written a moving, gritty, powerful, all-consuming, emotional dual POV story about survival, second-chances and love.. and the lives and struggles of her characters will hook you from the very beginning. The well-written flawless chapters all too quickly whizz by.. then, just as AM starts to piece your heart back together again, she further wows.. whoas.. and woos you with unforeseen sucker punches, bloody actions, jaw-dropping revelations, touching truths and sweet sweet endings. Her strong loveable characters are all skilfully brought to life by these two wonderful narrators who brought their A game, delivered stellar performances and made this, and book 2, the perfect listen.

Worth a credit? Yes absolutely.. this is a very impressive dark-to-light love story that is split into two.. book 1 ends with a cliffhanger and book 2 ends on a beautiful day.

I knew the fork in the road was inevitable; it was the decision I never wanted to make between choices I didn't know I had. And I love them both. My heart is destined to exist in two equal halves - one with each man. But one half beats stronger, the vein running deepest, and holds my choice in silence long before I know it for myself. The realization of what I have to do, of the heart I have to break, just might break mine, too.

Another night and day lost in the riveting and emotional world of these three characters and I devoured every beautiful broken second of it. One woman, two men and a heartbreaking decision yet to be made. Well, I thought I knew who I wanted to win but, with each touching torturous chapter hearing from a different POV, my choice would waiver.. however it never truly broke and thankfully Charlie chose right in the end. Her choice was not made easily, it was not made without sorrowful soul-searching and it was made amongst a handful of beautiful times.. because she deeply loved them both. But, even though both men were clinging to hope, one of them was inevitably going to have their heart broken.. yet, in the end, ALL hearts were going to break.. including mine. There were even times when I thought everyone should just stop and walk away.. however this very talented author steered me through those choppy uncharted waivering waters, veered me on to solid ground.. and finally gave me the sunset I was desperate for.

Worth a credit? This is not a feel-good romance and you will not come away unscathed without first shedding bitter-sweet tears.. but it IS epic.. it IS storytelling at its very best.. it holds pain. and passion.. and beautiful words.. and yes, it IS definitely creditworthy. The fantastic narration by Erin, Jason and Sebastian vividly brought the characters, their feelings and their hopes to life and they made this a ten star listen.

On the northeast side of town, there is a house. The house was once magical, filled with love and joy and plans for the future. Inside its walls are many things that belong to me - my books, the china from my mother on my wedding day, the beautiful cage once home to two birds, now empty, just like me. And a man. A man who also belongs to me. A man I no longer wish to keep. A man who, no doubt, has not slept, though the sun is rising. Because the house where he waits is where I laid my head to rest every night for eight years. Until last night.

Originally, I was not going to start this Duet because I dislike broken vows and cheating relationships.. however, over and over again this book would subtly make its presence known to me as I trawled Audible hoping to find my next listen.. so eventually I caved and bought it. And, oh.. my.. God am I ever glad I did, because this book was so very everything.. and, as I laid awake promising myself just one more chapter over and over again, I finally realized (at the dawning of a new day) that I had been talking utter poop to myself all night long.

I had been absolutely transfixed as I witnessed how a wife struggled to hold on to the empty husk of her marriage which was slowly crumbling because only one of them had been trying. I was utterly hooked as an old love resurfaced, lit a new fire in the shell of the girl he had once walked away from and breathed hope into whispered words of second-chances. I too fell in love with the caring, kind, thoughtful man who had grown from the teen she once knew and only he saw how emotionally empty and exhausted she was. Then this very talented author completely knocked me off course as she cleverly stirred the pot by finally giving me the husband*s POV and, at this point, nothing could have torn me away from the heartbreaking chapters as the dam holding back years of grief, loss, hurt, anger, devastation, heartache, regret, hope and helplessness finally burst with its heavy load. There were pain-filled words.. and pleas.. and promises.. and a tentative treaty was struck as a Phoenix rose from the ashes, spread his wings and prepared for war.

Worth a credit? Oh boy YES spectacular storytelling.. a gripping and emotionally charged plot as uncharted chapters concealed and slowly revealed their hidden gems.. and a cliffhanger ending that promises much more heartfelt anguish to come. Erin, Jason and Sebastian WERE the three characters they each played.. with their tender vulnerabilities, their torn emotions, their deep sorrow, their tentative hopes and their heart*s hurdles coming through clearly.

All it takes is one night for them to conjure floor-rattling, wall-banging moans…but they’re not from the ghosts. I really thought I'd love this book but sadly I didn't. This is one of those listens where you can't quite put your finger on exactly why it didn't work for you. It could've been the narration, or the lack of build-up to the romance, or that I thought it was super-super-sweet and silly.. but whatever it was I ended up just wishing it would end and sped it up to get there quicker. It's dual POV, there's humor and some hot and passion filled sex scenes.. however, I just couldn't feel the chemistry or connect. Hero was an alpha 40+ tv celebrity and the heroine was a 30+ sound engineer with her own business.

Worth a credit? I'm sure others will love it.. and it probably made a better read than listen.. but sadly NO it wasn't for me.

Well, you two lovely ladies have done it again.. you have successfully written a sweet feel-good love story and the romance between Kass, an underwear model who hopes to make it into acting and Elle, the burned before daughter of a Film Director, had everything I was hoping for. I felt their instant touchpaper chemistry, was not at all surprised at the speed their feelings deepened and sighed when the predicted angst unfortunately happened. You two word wizards made it magical, made it absolutely heartfelt, made it addictive and made it so romantic with a beautiful HEA ending.

A very enjoyable light fictional dual POV fairytale, a drool/sigh/dream-worthy hero, a successful sweet heroine, brief interactions with best-friend Kaylee and Paxton from the previous book.. and Erin and Zachary were the vocal stars of the show by skilfully bringing the well-written chapters to life.

Worth a credit? Yes absolutely.. and I do not usually like short listens as there is usually not much depth, descriptions or layers and they are over way too soon.. BUT, if these two very talented authors have penned it, I know my credit is in safe hands because they pack a whole-hell-of-a-lot into their storylines, I know I will eat up ever single second of it and I know it will leave me wishing for more more more.

Because of an audible glitch, I am replacing apostrophes with *s.

This rockstar romance was a very slow ebb and flow because Julian, the sexy frontman for super-band Breaking Giants, wasn*t free to pursue the instant attraction he felt as soon as he met Coffee Shop owner Rose when he performed incognito at her open mic night. Their bad timings continued for well over a year and, during that time, there was plenty of angst, drama and heartache.. but it wasn*t all down to Julian - because Rose had emotional baggage too from her deceased rockstar parent*s toxic marriage and lifestyle. And, other than brief *stolen moments* in time, these two soul-mates would have to wait long and hard for their HEA.

+++ SPOILER ALERT +++
I really liked this very addictive listen but.. and it*s a big BUT, I was torn.. after eventually proclaiming his undying love to Rose, begging forgiveness for hurting her so badly and promising he would wait for her for however long she took, Julian couldn*t (and didn*t) even wait six weeks before he was cheating.. and may have continued if Rose hadn*t found out. This really didn*t sit well with me.. I like a hero to be a hero not a cheating a$$hole.. and the second *other woman* angst and drama left a bitter taste. So I loved then loathed Julian.. and his actions pressurized Rose who went from being a strong heroine into a self-sacrificing one.

Worth a credit? Yes.. or maybe no. One star.. or maybe four. This emotional rollercoaster could*ve been beautiful and epic.. and it was so heading that way, but, (IMO) it sadly went off the rails at the 85% mark after the gut-wrenching revelation and I just couldn*t get my happy back. It was told from Rose*s PoV and Charlotte North did a great job narrating it - with Aaron Shedlock only doing the Epilogue. I*m torn by my mixed feelings on this one as I wanted the sweet fantasy not the bitter sucker-punch of reality.. however you may well see beyond and love it.
