Baseball star Will Vandergriff knows any number of women who would happily pretend to be his girlfriend. In a last-ditch effort to restore his good standing with his team's higher-ups, he enlists the help of his neurotic, goody-goody neighbor. Schoolteacher Olivia Pratt might be a bit quirky and a bit of a loner, but she's a lot more inviting than she knows. Will hopes that bringing her to his next game might revamp his reckless reputation and help get his career back on track. The plan works a little too well, however.

This book was a very enjoyable read [or should I say listen] about a woman with a disability [Sarah] and a guy who comes back to town after his mother dies [David]. David is very adamant about not wanting a wife until he gets his business in order. However, the more time he spends with Sarah those plans change. This book also had humor in it surrounding the legend of the Bear Lake Monster!

I also want to acknowledge how good the author did with really being able to express some of the struggles/feelings people with disabilities face; as a person with a disability I could relate with Sarah a lot. The narrator did a good job with making each voice different, I appreciate when you can easily tell when different characters are speaking.

Matthew had a crush on Holly in high school and asked her to prom unfortunately Holly turned him down. Years later they run into each other and he asks her out again only to get shot down again. This time Holly has different reasons like her career being her sole focus. I really liked the faith and nuggets of wisdom woven into this book. Although to me there wasn't as strong of a romance thread as there usually is in Kimberly Rose Johnson books. To me this book was more about Holly and her journey and growth. Also, Matthew's little niece was a cute addition to this story - little kids are so cute with their innocence!

I gave the performance 4 stars because I thought the narrator sounded kind of stilted in some areas.
