I chose this book because I am going to South Africa in the fall and am reading lots of stuff to prepare. So much of what I’m reading is historical. This was about contemporary life. I didn’t know much about Trevor Noah. I am now a huge fan. Great book. Great performance.

Behavior issues, addiction issues, alternative educational settings, therapy, this book has it all. The message though is help to handle it all in the most beneficial way. When we realize what we as parents have control over- our boundaries- our kids learn to take ownership for their problems. They do the work to fix the problems instead of us as parents. That never works anyway. I am not only purchasing this book to highlight, I am starting it again from the beginning on Audible. My sister and I also plan to go through it together. Between us, our kids range in age from 18 - 28.
