When a letter from his supposedly deceased mother finds its way into his hands, life changes in an instant for international pop star Bodhi Beckett. Reeling from the deception of those closest to him, Bodhi spirals out of control and is sent to a secluded mansion in the coastal mountains of Southern California for some rest and relaxation. But the retreat proves to be anything but relaxing when a raging wildfire sets the landscape around him ablaze. While escaping the flames, Bodhi rescues Breeze, a quirky, pet-loving woman, and together the two fight their way to safety.

What a pleasant surprise this audible was.  I haven't read/listened to this author yet so once I read the synopsis, I was hooked. I am loving the new AUDIBLE ORIGINAL books. I typically read a book then listen to the audible but I am so glad I took a chance on this audible.

Bodhi and Breeze are brought together at a vulnerable moment, fleeing a fire that could have possibly claimed both their lives.  The writing and narrating was one point, descriptive and had me feeling the heat of the flames as they both were running from this nightmare.

Many would assume their attraction was due to having survived this time together, but they had an attraction more than the surface, more than their shared experience.   Their back and forth banter was funny and light-hearted in a book that had many soul searching and hellish times.  These two characters grew so much during the book, they each grew as individuals and as a couple.

I loved the story, I loved the character, Breeze's parents were a hoot.

Zachary Weber is one of my favorite authors - he has the ability to become each character he narrates. With each audible, I listen to that he narrates he makes his own.   This is my first Callie Dalton audible but her portrayal of Breeze was great also.

I think that going back into J. Bengtsson's previous books is in my future.

Audible First...I am typically one who listens to Audible's AFTER I read a book but I am a fan of Kylie Scott and this is narrated by Andi Ardnt...what more could a girl ask for?

Clementine has amnesia...and doesn't remember who she is or who she loved. She was attacked and woke up not remembering her life.  She's with her sister who offers minimal information, as not to overwhelm her. She needs o to figure out who she is. She begins asking around and stumbles upon Ed, the tattoo artist who gave her ink and low and behold - he was a very important part of the old Clem's life...

Unfortunately, Ed isn't too happy with her return.  Nor are his friends/employees at the shop. But Ed is a good guy, he offers to help her try and navigate her newly found life. By way of friendship these two start a journey to reconnection.

This story is about rediscovering yourself, the ones you loved and starting over.

I loved Clem...figuring out who she is and who she was.  I found this story to be quite unique and these characters quite lovable.

Narration wise...come on people - it's Andi Arndt...she nailed it - like always.

My life was perfect - until a shocking tragedy pulled the rug out from underneath me. My children were left without a father. I was without a husband and a provider. Instead of wallowing in my grief, I buried myself in my work at Dovetail Enterprises. Landing the promotion as the CEO’s right hand was exactly what I needed. Getting saddled with Milo Huxley as an assistant is exactly the opposite. I can’t stand him. He’s arrogant, irresponsible, and out for my job. As if that’s not bad enough, he has to be devastatingly sexy, and have a posh English accent that makes me squirm on top of it all.

I have been a long time Corrine Micheals fan (like from her first book fan). I always love that Corinne has these characters that I want as my friends. I want to be a part of these peoples lives. They may have heartache and sadness but their resilience is what attracts me to them. And this book is no different. Milo and Danielle don't just fall in love at first sight...not at all.

Danielle's husband is murdered and she's left raising her children alone but thankfully with the love and support of her friends she's working and trying to get her life back together. Working for Dovetail Industries Danielle is offered a full-time position, the position that had been Callum's brother Milo. (Make sure you read/listen to Not Until You by Corinne Micheals to read Callum and Nicole's story. Not that you won't enjoy this book as a stand-alone but because I loved that book too).

Milo has returned from his "absence" and wants his job back. The only obstacle? Nicole.

The relationship between Milo and Danielle is hot, sexy, funny, witty and heartfelt. This book is a bit enemy to lovers and slow-burn mixed together seamlessly.

Now - I loved the story and I may have loved it even more with the narration added. Sophie Eastlake and Shane East nailed it. I am not sure there is anything sexier than hearing Shane East narrate the sexy times between Milo and Danielle. I guess I need to mention that Milo is British...oh yeah - that's a really important fact!

Amelia - 1942: The inside of my closet held the last bit of my freedom before I was torn from my home and shoved onto a dark train. Our destination was even darker. "Women and children to the right. Men to the left," they shouted at us. Everything was taken from me, leaving only the smoke-filled air, piercing screams, and soul-burning cries. I was slowly starved and weakened to the bone, but there was a man - a Nazi - who brought me extra food. He called himself a prisoner too, but he scared me, and I wondered if he was the enemy I should fear the most.

This has been one of the best audibles I have ever listened to. The narrators were perfection. They fit the story line and felt so genuine.

In Last Words we get a taste of historical romance mixing with historical fiction mixing with a modern contemporary romance as the story is told in alternating POVs in present and past. Emma’s grandmother, Amelia, finally reveals the details of her time in the concentration camp in 1942. Through her grandmother’s journal, she sees the horror of Amelia being stripped of her family, her life, her humanity. It was devastating. But so wonderfully written. All while learning of Amelia’s past, seeing Emma learn what true love really is and that life isn’t worth settling for was amazing.

This book is truly amazing. I would recommend this in a heartbeat!

What more could I learn from reading (or listening in my case) to Christian's POV? Well, a lot of things in my opinion.
Christian's POV gives us more insight into what is going on in his twisted "Fifty Shades of Fucked Up" head.
I learned that instead of purchasing SIP, Christian should have invested in a condom company. That man is better than a damn boy scout. He's ALWAYS prepared...always has a condom in his pocket and yeah - Christian and Anna are insatiable.. continually having sex, everywhere and all the time!
I learned that this incredibly outwardly strong man is a quivering mess of insecurity and when we hear his inner thoughts, my heart broke for him.
Even when Anna has shown her feeling for Christian he forever doubts himself and his ability to be worthy of his love.
I also learned who the man in the elevator in the ill-fitting brown suit was!
I loved to hear what Christian's mom said to him after finding out the relationship between him and Elena had occurred (holy moly - Grace was NOT happy, and she let Christian know it.)
And if I didn't remember it, Christian has one dirty filthy mouth. Not just in the bedroom but only in his everyday conversation...it's kinda HOT!

I think that EL James has given us a present, the Fifty Shades of Beauty of this love story.
Be still my heart!

1st things first...Jessie Metcalf as Dylan in mind was just a bonus.  Adding Jessie Metcalf's voice as Dylan just sealed the deal for me.  These narrators were perfect!

The story, a quick, fun, sexy novella is just what I needed. A little predictable, the matchmaker falling in love with her client, but sometimes predictable is what I want.  I also love that when you read (or listen) to a Lauren Blakely book you are always going to find yourself giggling and definitely blushing!

I love that Lauren Blakely has this vast cast of characters that intermingle within her books and novellas.  I love to see old characters pop into her other books and it makes me smile to hear they are doing well and even a sneak peek into other books by Lauren I haven't quite had a chance to read.

A great choice on narrators and a great quick read (well listen!)

My mother and father have provided me with every luxury as well as their unyielding love and support, but I’m not spoiled. I’m also not content. By example, my parents have shown me how love should be. I don’t know their past, and that doesn’t matter. I know what I’ve seen—two people devoted to one another.

I am a dedicated Aleatha Romig fan.  I went to see when I first read her and low and behold, 3 years ago on November 6, 2013, I purchased Consequences.  I have since read every book she has ever published.

The Consequences series is high on my list of favorites.  Dark and twisted has never been my normal read, but when Aleatha Romig writes it, I read it and love it up.   You can read this book as a standalone, but you are so missing out on the amazingness of Tony and Claire and their unique story.

This book had the darkness I love, the twists and turns too.  Natalie and Dexter have a relationship that will mirror her parent's lives. Some serious Stockholm syndrome going on here and Natalie falls, hook, line and sinker.

"Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

Nat, aka Bug, should have listened to those words the moment Dexter spoke them.

The story as a whole was interesting and kept me listening and reading.   My only concern was that it went too easy for me, to see Natalie acquiesce so easily was just too hard to swallow at times.

The ending seemed incomplete, I want more.  I want to see the dynamic between Tony and Dexter and Natalie's entire family.  So I will hold out some hope that maybe, just maybe Aleatha Romig has another novella, short story or full-length book about this family ruminating in her brain as we speak!

The audible - I enjoyed the narrators, the male narrator, Eric Ronlin was on point on for me for the male voices.  His "evil laugh" is so perfect that it could be a sound bite for me.  (Insert evil laugh).  I found that his performance was believable and well rehearsed.

Kylie Steward, the female narrator felt as though she was just reading the book to me at times. Not making me feel what Natalie was feeling but telling me how Natalie was feeling.  Overall, the book and audible were enjoyable and kept my interest.  Just wanted a little more from both the story and the narrator at times.

I love a good book about a cocky model who falls in love with an "everyday girl", but this book isn't that book. It is so much better and more!

Danny may be a hot, sexy male model, but he's nowhere near cocky. He's a good guy at heart who has lost the love of his life and just needs to find his way back.

Reese - the "one that got away" for Danny and Danny was the "one that got away" from her too. Miscommunications as young adults would change their paths. The unlikely couple through college have their paths cross and the sparks fly again.

One of my favorite parts of this story is the completeness, it spans many years. Danny and Reese are now in their late twenties/early thirties and grown up. We get a glimpse into their lives in college and present day. They both have grown and to watch them grow up and become themselves, caring, selfless people was a joy.

This second chance romance is one of my new favorites because they are believable, understanding, and lovable characters.

I enjoyed this book when it first came out and now it's available on audible it's a bonus for me.
These narrators showed they could act and make me feel as though they were truly...DANNY AND REESE.  And of course, Vitori..these narrators had quite a few accents they needed to master while doing this audible which can be challenging.

My only "concern" was there were a few mispronunciations by them which made me cringe and I wish there was a way to go back and edit them.  A great second chance book about a couple that you want to have their HEA as if it were your own.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Cut Wide Open?

Gunner and Mouse reuniting after her captivity was just heartbreaking, watching them fall in love again was beautiful!

What about Crystal Boudet’s performance did you like?

She did a multitude of voices flawlessly.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
