I love all of Ron Ripley’s books and thus far have loved all of Thom Bowers’ audio versions! Very happy with this one as well, I listened to the majority of this one in one shot, because I couldn’t wait for the ending-Stefan continues his vengeful plan to sell off his parent’s collections to innocent buyers, creating more and more havoc. Jeremy and Victor continue cleaning up his messes and getting closer to finding him, and this book was even better than the last (even though I maintain my opinion that nothing is creepier than dolls)! A rifle and book are the highlights creating the main troubles in this book...it’s chilling to think of a book that could cause so much death so quickly!!! The rifle was crazy because it should have immediately talked the buyer into suicide, but managed to find itself some kind of dormant sociopathic guy who just needed a catalyst to start his killing spree (also a creepy thought, in and of itself)! The heroes manage to come out on top in the end but never without some unfortunate casualties in the interim that will change lives forever-he must be permanently stopped! Loved it, as always-I received this book from Scare Street in exchange for an honest opinion, thank you!!!

A cold dark night. A cemetery full of secrets. And murderous ghosts on the loose. After more than a decade, Connor Mann is forced out of the psychiatric ward he once called home. He finds himself back in the town where he grew up, with a distant father, and a tragedy all too painful to bear. His attempt to resume a normal life soon comes under attack when he encounters restless spirits lurking in the basement. And someone - or something - terribly vicious awaits him with open arms in nearby Pine Grove Cemetery.

This was another great narration of another great book-Ron Ripley and Thom Bowers continue to make a great team! This book was slower to start for me, but the background was needed to understand the story and it picked up quickly! Loved Connor, Hu and Rex- there were plenty of scary parts and action to keep the book going, and a great (and actually quite realistic) storyline. Can’t wait for the next one!!! Great listen for my commute, made me look forward to getting back in the car instead of dreading the ride-can’t ask for much more than that! I received this audiobook in exchange for my honest opinion-recommend!

Stefan Korzh's parents built a life around collecting possessed items, in the throes of a peculiar game with the dead. Antique porcelain dolls, beautifully crafted teapots, and an eerie teddy bear, all seemingly innocuous objects that encompass unimaginable evil, and malignant spirits who wish to inflict pain on the living. His parents' obsession ruined Stefan's life, and he dreams of punishing the rest of the world for his poor luck of the draw.

Ron Ripley has been a favorite author of mine for several years. His books are always original & well written, and contain flawed but sympathetic & heroic characters that you quickly grow to care for. In this audio version of “Collecting Death,” Thom Bowers narrates & does a great job! Mr. Bowers’ voice is an excellent fit for the ghost/horror/suspense genre. It has an ominous/creepy Halloween quality I like, and it seems to capture your attention & interest quickly. Stefan is a great villain-in-training, and Stefan’s Dad (the ghost) is awesome, I love how he’s always yelling for Stefan randomly. I really hope we find out more about his dad’s ghosts!!! Rolf the bear was hilarious to me for some reason & Anne the creepy Bisque doll with the scary French song?!? OMG loved them, dolls are sooo creepy!!! Not sure why certain inanimate objects have such enormous fear-inducing capabilities, but dolls and ventriloquist dummies will forever share the #1 spot for “Life’s Creepiest Inanimate Objects” in my book. Jeremy & Victor are both interesting characters that I grew to really like! Excited to see what happens next! Great book in both audio & regular versions. I received this audiobook from Scare Street in advance in exchange for an honest review, thank you!!!
