The lives of Dean Wagner and Tatum Fields have been ruled by the hand of fate. The past six years of my life have been consumed by guilt. Since we lost Landon to a fire, I’ve done everything in my power to protect my daughter, Leila, from finding out the truth about how her twin brother died. Nothing in my life means more to me than her. Not my band, not my reputation. Nothing. Until I see Tatum, the woman I saved on the beach the same night she dealt with a loss of her own. The daily routine I’ve settled into is what keeps me going. Work at my chocolate shop, pay the bills, repeat.

Dean Wagner was in no way you typical hot, sexy, rocker dude and yet at the same time he was typical of your hot, sexy, rocker dude with a family/friends that he loved and respected. His life was not easy. He was not given the charm of having it all and keeping all parts of his life whole and healthy. Tatum was a victim of life also. She had a fiance that was a jerk, leech, and worse. In a mater of hours she find that the man she thought she love did not love her or value her. He would not even get his feet wet to save her life. In a moment of in decision and desperation she finds that she is in a battle of life or death. The man to help her see clear is a man that had his own battle to wage.

This was my first time with a read from Kathy Coopmans in this series. I fell in love with the series. I am so intrigued by the characters that I want more of them. I will be going back for book one and most certainly getting book three.

Narration from Lacy Laurel and Lorenzo Matthews just intensified the enjoyment of this read. I found it to have layers. The tone and pitch of voices were just what was needed to move you. You could visualize every step of the way. In the narration you could feel the pain, loss, and disbelief of the events as they were unfolding.

I'm nobody's baby daddy. I don't care how many stunning women throw themselves at me, looking to turn one hot night into an 18-year paycheck. I've got way too much on the line to throw it away for one night of pleasure. Ball is life, and basketball is my first priority. I've got a championship to win. But when I see that familiar face shaking her pom-poms on the sidelines, I'm transported back to childhood, back to the days before a fiery plane crash ripped us apart, forcing us to grow up overnight.

The narration of this book was what was the perfect extra for me. Aiden Snow and Alicyn Aimes gave this the dual narration that let you see and feel it all from that one POV being portrayed. The story itself was lifted up with the narration. As for the story itself, Nick and Eden were captivating. She was a piece of his past. He was certain enough to know that he wanted her for his future. All this time the one girl that got away was always within reach. Eden and Nick were no strangers to each other but that did not mean things would be smooth sailing. That was the good thing for me. I did not want it to be all easy. Nick was a man that knew what he wanted but he lacked the required alpha gene to make sure nothing stood in his way to what he wanted most. Eden was just the one that could change his life and make things more than what she thought she wanted out of life. Eden and Nick were good for each other but there were some obstacles in his life that were a challenge to a point but still by the end left me wondering. There were some good secondary character, even if you did not like one or two of them.

Rosamund was a matchmaker. She felt she had the perfect person for everyone. After meeting Marcus Worthing, Earl of Somerville again she believes that he will make a perfect match for her sister. What she didn't expect happened and this turned in to more than a match for her sister.

A nice quickie to see some of the character from the series. Knowing the outcome from book one, getting a quick recap was nice.

Clutch: A Novel is the laugh-out-loud chick lit romance chronicling the dating misadventures of Caroline Johnson, a single purse designer who compares her unsuccessful romantic relationships to styles of handbags - the “Hobo” starving artist, the “Diaper Bag” single dad, the “Briefcase” intense businessman, etc. With her best friend, bar owner Mike, by her side, the overly-accommodating Caroline drinks a lot of chardonnay, puts her heart on the line, endures her share of unworthy suitors, and finds the courage to discover someone onto whom she wants to hold: the “Clutch”.

Can I say that she was seriously in to her purses, handbags, ect. . . This was a fun read. It got me through an afternoon enjoying the weather. It was pleasant, pleasing, and took me on a ride of a young adult into her maturity. She was strong, independent, intelligent, needed, and determined. Caroline knew what she wanted to do with her life since she was a small girl and her Aunt Meme introduced her to her first clutch at seven. She followed her dreams to finish design school. She further her dream by reaching higher with auntie's persuasion to get a business degree. That may have been her best decision in the world because there she met her clutch and didn't even know it. Mike was there for her through it all. Years of terrible decisions and even worst choices in men, from art shows, to customer hookup, to bump in and even old classmates. Caroline had her life put out there. We see it all unfold. This was more than just a romance. This was Caroline's life. This was chick-lit, women;s fiction, and a bit of romance on the side. We see it all.

Narration from Suzanne Barbetta was a nice addition to this story. I did not find anything that was overwhelmingly a clutch for me but it was a layer of clear, clean audio that gave visualization to the story of Caroline Johnson's life.

This was the first book outside of YA that I have had the pleasure of getting lost in from Alex Lidell. I found that I was being pulled in by each new layer of the lore and the pull of the magic that guides the quints. Lera was strong and determined and also sweet, innocent, and outside of her world. She was smart and willing to learn. She gave a feel that she would be easily swayed. She stood her ground and made things happen.

River had a veil of stern mystery around him. Then that became apparent when he would discuss some things. Tye I love upon meeting him in the barn. Coal was stern, harsh, coal, strong, determined, and so much more. Shade had me with those golden eyes and the softness only he could provide.

This was a semi-cliff hanger but not in the true sense of cliffhangers. This part of the tale was over and there was more to the future of the quint.

Narrator Victoria Mei did a fabulous job. She gave depth, emotion, confusion, distinction. Each character was rich and full. They each had strength in their voice, diction was clear, accents rich and even with speed changes this all held true. I loved the narration of this story and I do hope that she will be the one providing voice for the next installment. Victoria gave you the clear concise depth of character the some others miss when there is a full cast of character that are interacting so closely as they do here.

There is nothing like sweet sexy read to get you through a long slow weekend. I have to say that it did not last the whole weekend like I was intending for it. I sat down to read and finished the whole thing the first night of the weekend. But I had a great weekend. The read did allow for me to have a great romance in my head and something sweet to think about. There was emotional pain, joy, sadness, happiness. Sweet journey to a reconnection between Tony and Amy. She went through a lot to get her happy ever after. Sweet molasse romance that has a few deviations from the norm, but a romance that has been in the making for many years. Come watch Tony and Amy find each other again and navigate the pain of the past.

See had a hard sic months. She was tough and scarred all at the same time. You could see from first meeting Logan that he was a protector at heart. He was down right sexy.

This was a littledgier than Melissa's usual red as but nevertheless very much welcomed. The intensity added to it's appeal. This wild boy was not really all that wild.

My only drawback to narrator, Robert, was that at time Stormy sounded like a male.
