Here are two bestselling novels which offer a great introduction to the Kings and Sorcerers series. Kings and Sorcerers tells the epic coming of age story of Kyra, 15, who dreams of becoming a famed warrior, like her father, though she is the only girl in a fort of boys. She struggles to understand her special skills and mysterious inner power, and comes to realize she is different than the others.

I find myself yelling at the narrator throughout this series and seriously disgruntled that it wasn't wrapped up in the first two or three books. Now I find that there are six total. The story line is rather simplistic and trite (I just don't find it weighty enough). I feel like this was a rushed series just to get something out. So much potential, but ideas seem just written down with the gaps filled in. Still, I like the narrator (sorry for yelling at you for poor plot development!) Needs to be written and marketed for a younger audience. It's more their speed.

Imagine for a moment that you are a Dragon. A creature of unimaginable power, unending intelligence and strength, and you've just woken from 10,000 years of slumber. Worse yet, you've awoken underneath a city: Boston, an alien and strange place that defies everything you've ever known. Your last memories are of primordial forests, erupting volcanoes sculpting a developing world, faeries, witches, vampires, krakens, and monsters that feared where you turned your eyes.

Where does Tesser: A Dragon Among Us rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've been listening to some heavy hitters lately and Tesser is exactly what I needed to just listen to and relax....an easy story to get into, no technical babble, no overly intricate characters...just what you listen to is what you get.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tesser of course. Who wouldn't want a hunky dragon man as a beau!

Which scene was your favorite?

Saving the girl. Always.

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the ten consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

What did you love best about The Way of Kings?

I have started listening to other Brandon Sanderson books and this one is one of his best. An engaging story, sub-stories...all coming together. You actually care about his characters and are so drawn into the story.

What other book might you compare The Way of Kings to and why?

Very much like the Mistborn series and Elantris, with history, radically different magics in each of the book series and like I said.....great characters.

Have you listened to any of Kate Reading and Michael Kramer ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Excellent narration from both performers.

Any additional comments?

I did a 45 hour marathon and immediately bought the next book in the series. This book is EPIC. I am downloading the next book as I type!

At last, one of the world’s greatest works of science fiction is available - just as author Stanislaw Lem intended it. To mark the 50th anniversary of the publication of Solaris, Audible, in cooperation with the Lem Estate, has commissioned a brand-new translation - complete for the first time, and the first ever directly from the original Polish to English. Beautifully narrated by Alessandro Juliani ( Battlestar Galactica), Lem’s provocative novel comes alive for a new generation.

Lord it was unwieldy. Spent more time on pseudo-science than plot or characters. So if you like the pseudo-science fiction, this is up your alley. Very detailed descriptions. If you are looking for substance and a good story think twice...
