I found the first chapter or so rough going, but by the 3rd chapter, I had gotten used to the narrator's voice and gotten hooked on the tale. By the last half of the book I resented anything or anyone who made me pause the app.

The story seemed to be my cup of tea, but I only got about an hour into it before I gave up. Between the high pitched, inappropriate little girl voice and the "video blog" format, i couldn't stand anymore.
If you don't mind a story related in the first person in fits and starts (something like a story told by letters, like Dangerous Liaisons) , then you might enjoy this book.

Fantasy with great characters and a sense of amusement. Light violence (swords, mostly), but only bad guys die.

It was difficult to listen to the narrator's gruff voice. At first, I had trouble distinguishing between male and female voices, due to the narrator's rather deep and rough voice, but I eventually got used to it. She did a good job giving each character a different voice, which I realized after my ear adapted.

I love the way this book brings the characters' personal stories forward in time, as well as continuing to develop Safehold's industrial revolution.
The narrator has a pleasant voice and reads well; HOWEVER, he doesn't seem to know that "Terran" is pronounced "TER-ren", NOT "Ter-RUN."

otherwise, an entertaining tale. Either the author is not a native English speaker,,or else she simply misuses prepositions and vocabulary for fun.

This series is very well written, and the narrator is truly excellent! Mr. Andrews handles several foreign and regional accents perfectly. The Indians speak great Anglo-Indian English, the Germans, French and Spanish speakers are all accurately presented, and the main characters are recognizable and easy to distinguish from each other.
An enjoyable listen.
