When Catherine Saxon, an American correspondent reporting on the war in Europe, is found murdered in her London digs, news of her death is concealed by British authorities. Serving as a linchpin between Scotland Yard and the Secret Service, Robert MacFarlane pays a visit to Maisie Dobbs, seeking her help. He is accompanied by an agent from the US Department of Justice - Mark Scott, the American who helped Maisie get out of Hitler’s Munich in 1938. MacFarlane asks Maisie to work with Scott to uncover the truth about Saxon’s death.

I have read all of Maisie Dobbs books to date. I love them all. This one may be my favorite to date. If you haven’t read Jacqueline Winspear I highly recommend her series for anyone who loves mystery and good historical perspectives on some very trying times for the world. Let’s hope we don’t end up back there again. Enjoy

One of the comedy world's fastest-rising stars tells his wild coming of age story during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed. Noah provides something deeper than traditional memoirists: powerfully funny observations about how farcical political and social systems play out in our lives.

This is an interesting story about Trevor Noah’s life. That said I just was not drawn to finish the story. I truly appreciate all he’s been through and the success he has had. Perhaps others will find it more captivating than I did at listening on my way to and from work.

I had never read Robert Dugoni, but after this first read, I have already gone back to start the David Sloan series. The "8th Sister" was captivating from the start, and was good through the finish. I hope there will be a follow-up as I liked the characters and would welcome them back. This was a well done and credible tale with many twists and turns. I especially liked audible read, as it included Russian language with translations. I would highly recommend this book.
