A blueprint. A bible. What Sun Tzu’s Art of War was to ancient China, Pimp is to the streets. As real as you can get without jumping in, this is the story of Iceberg Slim’s life as he saw, felt, tasted, and smelled it. It is a trip through hell by the one man who lived to tell the tale—the dangers of jail, addiction, and death that are still all too familiar for today’s black community. By telling the story of one man’s struggles and triumphs in an underground world, Pimp shows us the game doesn’t change; it just has a different swagger.

This has got to be one of the darkest, heaviest books I’ve come across. It’s extremely real. I would give the writing 5 stars, except the topic is so dark and language so degrading I almost stopped listening 1st chapter in. Slang is also interesting, and after a few chapters it all makes sense. This book is like taking a trip to mars man, is another world altogether. Not for the faint hearted. A great warning to any would be or budding pimps, dealers and prostitutes.

Fantastic book...a very fresh take on living out the Christian life in a practical way. I love the author’s attitude towards just doing it. And some of the things he’s involved in seem to be making amazing impacts on the lives of kids....getting kids released from prison through fair trials, starting an academy in Uganda. He just seems to say yes to everything, and figures it out as he goes. He also uses his law firm to fund his work with kids, which I think is rad. Has given me a lot to think about on how I manage my own resources, time, and what our focus is as a family. Thank you for writing it!

This was such an easy listen, clips along briskly, and has an engaging, sometime emotional, and quite thought provoking storyline. A few of the key elements require the suspension of disbelief, mainly a newly minted lawyer landing a murder defence trial...but hey, that’s what makes it a story worth telling. If I wanted reality I’d be watching a documentary! I like the style of writing a lot. The narration was fantastic, one of my favourites so far on Audible. The Russian accent and character was very well done, as were the female voices, for a male narrator...so nice work there! So all in all a very pleasant experience!

Loved this book. Performance was good, maybe a little loose for my liking, as the narrator winged it a bit by going off script pretty regularly. I prefer a straight narration, but hey, he’s the author! Very good follow up to Primal Blueprint. I’ve previously struggled to stay in keto consistently, so this how to manual is motivating, and explains the why really well. Really worthwhile listen!

Israel is a tiny state, and yet it has captured the world's attention, aroused its imagination, and, lately, been the object of its opprobrium. Why does such a small country speak to so many global concerns? More pressingly: Why does Israel make the decisions it does? And what lies in its future? We cannot answer these questions until we understand Israel's people and the questions and conflicts, the hopes and desires, that have animated their conversations and actions.

I have new found respect for all that has been accomplished in Israel, in spite of some of the darker aspects of Israel’s history, from which the author does not shy away. This book is a beautifully written tapestry, weaving together Israel’s history into a into a narrative that makes sense of present Israel.

Really interesting book, lots of fascinating parallels. Once concern I have is around drawing the bullseye after the shots have been fired...in spite of this, it’s hard not to see the replaying of an ancient story, which doesn’t end well for America or western society. A lot of the book could have been presented in a table showing the parallels. Overall though, a very useful insight into what could really be going on with the Clintons, Obama and Trump.
