I'm breaking up with setups. No more “you should meet my son, nephew, grandson, the butcher, the guy down the street who mows my lawn.” People mean well, but machines know better, so I'll rely on the great dating algorithms of the web to find my ideal man, thank you very much. Soon enough, it looks like I’ve found him - his screen name is Lucky Suit, and he’s hilarious, quick-witted, and full of heart. But when we finally get together in person, I have the distinct feeling I’ve met him before. Funny enough - he says the same thing about me.

While most benefit from their current gifts, Akos and Cyra do not - their gifts make them vulnerable to others' control. Can they reclaim their gifts, their fates, and their lives and reset the balance of power in this world?

I started listening with low expectations, after reading reviews. I agree with others that it’s hard to start this book, but Roth’s plunging beginnings serve her world building. I find it hard to believe that this universe doesn’t exist somewhere for her to have conceptualized it so wonderfully. I found the protagonists to be very full characters exhibiting palpable development, and would definitely advise the reader to expect the unexpected. Roth has showed that she can stray from the comfort of trophy dystopian without sacrificing the satisfying twists and moments that dystopian readers love. It is regrettable that Roth chose the narrators she did, I can think of much better, but I can also think of worse. Emily Rankin did well enough, but Austin Butler’s voice sounded exactly the same for the duration of the book, save a couple weird accents that he equipped and abandoned at whim. Over all I think this was a worthwhile listen

I’m pushing aside the memory of my nightmare, pushing aside thoughts of Alex, pushing aside thoughts of Hana and my old school, push, push, push, like Raven taught me to do. The old life is dead. But the old Lena is dead too. I buried her.I left her beyond a fence, behind a wall of smoke and flame. Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bests eller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

the premise is great, writing is great, over all solid. Meyers is marvelous at building universes. Compared to her other titles, the plot runs slow, I didnt mind it very much, but if you do this probably isnt your thing.
