This book explains quantum gravity and the breakthroughs and discoveries that brought it to the present day in brevity, clear logic and poetic prose. It deserves reading and re-reading, for not only an exhilarating ride each time, but for a deeper appreciation of science and the spirit that propels scientific understanding forward. This book is one of those rare few that has changed, and continued to develop, my world views as I reflect on the ideas it encompasses. Anazon: please make the Kindle version available ASAP.

The characters are fully realized and sympathetic, dialogues funny, penetrating and full of wisdom in a black comedy mode. I wonder who's going to step into Newman's and Hoffman's shoes for this movie?
