So this is pretty much the standard farm boy turns good with mysterious past and unseen magical powers. Throw in some "hot for teacher", quirky sidekicks, rich snob nemesis and headmaster mentor, and you get the picture. All that said, despite it not being an original story, it was still a lot of fun.

I get the novelty of a fantasy world turning sci-fi, but it's really starting to bog down the story...not sure if I'll continue

I like the concept of this story, but there are two big issues: first issue us that the MC is the most annoying little weasel imaginable. I quite literally hate him. That point is exasperated by the fact that the narrator is so cheesy, especially with the MC voice. Terrible execution here.

the actual story here is a good continuation of the previously established storylines. unfortunately story is only about half of this book. the rest is ridiculously overdone gratuitous BDSM. it's not the sex that is annoying though, but how completely pointless it is in the bigger story. its disappointing, because the actual story is pretty entertaining.

I enjoyed this one, and I don't know if this is due to translation, but every time the name of Surgeons ship was mentioned I wanted to throw the author at a wall. it may have been less of an issue if I read it, but on audible it was just too stupid

story is ok, but I was hoping the author would get tighter in his storytelling by now...this is the least enjoyable of the three books so far. A lot of which is due to the dumbstruck idiot MC going on and on every time he walks in a room with one of the girls about how they are the most gorgeous women on Earth. WE GET IT. They are pretty. We got it the first 50 times as well. Spend less time drooling and more time on the story of how the evil corporations are being evil with their evilness and our MC who constantly sabotages himself because he is a flat out moron. I get the genre loves the socially awkward loser makes good trope, but this guy is just TOO dumb. I'm probably done with this series.

great continuation!

MC is way OP, but I don't even care. Super fun story where the game world and real world both matter and are both well developed. Bring on book 3

I really like this series, but why oh why did Dan make Phil grow and improve in book 2 then suddenly go back to behaving like a moron again. The series is unique in the genre for concept, but falls into the trap of making the biggest challenges the MCs own idiocy.

first 4 hours kind of drag with whiny angst from our MC, but it eventually picks up...and when it does, it flies. But then it just sort of...ends, with nothing really having been resolved or accomplished I. the book. u like the world and concept, so I'll try one more, but I'm sick of whiny/angsty MCs...

I really love the world, but the snail like pacing from book 1 continues here. literally all of book 1 and 2 are about character skill development, with very little in the way of plot or action. very frustrating.
